Hero Honda Motors has officially launched the Karizma ZMR and priced it at Rs 91,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Karizma ZMR comes with a 223cc fuel injection engine and is fitted with digital ignition system. The new bike will go on sale across the country by the end of this month and the company will target youngsters within the age group of 18-24 years as its potential customers. The carb version Karizma will still sell side by side.


“One of the key pillars of our winning strategy has been to consistently keep introducing new, advanced products and maintaining a balanced product portfolio. The ZMR is set to further augment our steadily growing presence in the premium segment,” Hero Honda Motors MD Pawan Munjal said.


The Karizma ZMR is available in Panther Black, Sports Red, Vibrant Blue, Moon Yellow and Pearl White colours and comes with 3 years / 40,000kms warranty.

    The augmentation of growth in premium bike segment claimed by Pawan Munjal is soon going to be challenged by Bajaj Kawasaki Ninja, it seems very hard for Hero Honda to compete with the finesse of upcoming Ninja.

    Bajaj has developed one bike and rest of the portfolio contains mopeds like XCD, Discover, Platina etc….Pulsar looks like a bike but who would like to buy it? Bajaj just focusing on saving money only…a pulsar 150, 180 and 220….do not look much different….no one would get that feel of buying 220 as buying Karizma…..moreover….HH is always more reliable than Bajaj………Bajaj is still having hang-over of pulsar….all Bajaj fans find it hard to accept that HH bikes are anytime better than Bajaj bikes………..

  • The front fairing of the bike looks stunning. From the front view the bike looks like a real sports bike. The speedo console also looks good, its one of the best in the industry.

    Apart from the front fairing HH hasn’t done much in the design of the bike. The side decals remains the same, which is outdated. They should have made it much more sexy like the Hunk. Why not a monoshock for a 91k machine ? Overall the bike doesn’t look contemporary except the front fairing. For the FI and the full fairing the customers are going to pay a premium of 20k, which is a bit too much. And bcoz of the bulky full fairing the weight increased to 159 kg. After all the bike delivers almost the same power as it predecessor.

    HH should have done much better !!

    we’ll get a Pulsar 220 with 21 bhp for Rs 78,500.. which truly is faster than any other indian bikes…then who would buy this crap with..

    Oh, a word of warning, the glamour FI fuel pump is known to fail. It costs around 5K to replace. Glamour brake pads cost 200 bucks as compared to 2200 for the ZMA, so I guess if the ZMR pump fails you will be made to shell out any ridiculous amount if HH is going to be consistent about gouging the ZMA customer as always.

    Munjalbhai looks so happy waving his helmet (borrowed) around. Same old bike, few more acres of rattly and expensive to replace plastics and so many new suckers in the net

    Stickers make new models in india . When we used to “book” our Fiats back in the Pseudo Socialist days of Swadeshi India ; The NEW model was … if the colour of the car was changed or if the filling cap or some engine valve was moved from the side to the top.

    Stickers became the key model differential for Bikes …. and often still are. I mean when you have to advertise ” … now with attractive and eye catching stickers …” then you know just how bare the cupboard of tricks is with most of these idiot manufacturers in India.

    Ya, a few more of the things you already get as standard with the existing bike, carried over to the ZMR.
    Low quality swingarm bushes (cost 1300/kit) spares will last 15K km, max, more ussually 10K
    Final drive (non “O” ring) chains that wear out within 5-8000km (cost about 800). Final drive sprockets where the teeth BEND!!!
    A recent batch of clutch plates (OEM spares) that can last as little as 4000km (cost Rs 1300)
    Front fender which will crack within 10K km, no accident reqd (cost 800)

    And of course, 2200 rupee for 2 brake pads (VFR 800 brake pads cost $35, or 1750 for FOUR pads, as comparison). But then this is the price you pay for Munjal baba’s premium bike.

    Munjalbhai must have been misquoted about the “masterpiece” by some hard of hearing journo.

    Coz he has masterfully pissed on the Indian biker, probably before dropping his ZMR – T on them….

    Let us also not forget that Hero group brought the BMW F650 Funduro here at HIGHLY INFLATED PRICES of 5 lakh. As a result the bike did dismally and then they just walked off leaving owners in the lurch. The Last lot by Hero was sold off at 2 lak or 1.90 or something like that .

    40000 km in more than 6 yrs. That would answer it. It’s quite possible that ‘most’ Karizma owners who have ridden the bike just 6000 km per year will have the same experience (and those who ride it 2000km/year will probably not have had to tighten their chains yet, let alone buy any spares!), but I was under the impression that this bike has touring pretensions, and I have used it as such.

    My bike is not that old, it’s a 2004. The km are however, approx 160000, thats about 4 times as yours. 70% highway running. You have run about 500km a month in all this time, so it is unlikely to be much FAST highway running, of course, thats an assumption.

    You see, if you run any vehicle for a very limited time/slowly it will naturally wear at a much slower rate. The wear at 100kph is not just double the wear at 50kph. As such, parts on such a bike will last for a much much longer time, regardless of quality.

    The ORIGINAL parts which come with the bike are of a much higher quality than the spares sold at the authorized centres, which HH tries to push off onto you. My original swingarm bushes lasted 50K km, as well. I have a R15 monoshock too, and it contributes nothing to swingarm wear.

    The original clutch lasted almost 30 K (again, almost 22000km fast highway running). As a comparo, my M800 clutch plates lasted about 60K km, the originals on on my CBZ more than 50K. Ive had one set of replacement OEM clutch plates wear out in only 2500km on the karizma, and I don’t wheelie or slip clutch and drive, ever.

    As regards the pads, I stopped buying OE after one of the wretched Nissins actually failed with a debond at 9K km (Original lasted 22K). After that it has been Rs 100 ASK for me at 30000km replacement intervals.

    But that is hardly the point. The point is the sickening attitude of the company at trying to gouge their customers, with a “kidhar jayega moorkh” attitude and ZMR owners WILL face it.

    Most of the parts I have mentioned above can be replaced with substitutes that cost maybe a tenth as much and last longer or are of a far better quality for the same price (P220 chain, for example).

    Again that is not the point, point is, you have to buy the S*** spares they sell to you as punishment for buying their bike. Clearly, Munjal Baba views ZMA/ZMR customers basically as wallets on 2 wheels.

    Further, should anything have a manufacturing problem/defect, it will be months, maybe a year before they rectify it – the cam tensioner is an example. If it fails it will chew up the whole engine. It took HH more than a year to rectify the problem. I actually bought one replacement that lasted all of 700km, and this for a part that costs Rs 1300 odd. And I lost an engine on a long trip due to a defective tensioner. Total 10000 bucks out of pocket expenses all in all, as the local HH center (Jhansi) was unable to repair a bike and nobody knew whether spares were available within a radius of 200 km.

    Give a careful thought as to who will repair the ZMR if it breaks down out of town

    I sent a letter to Munjal baba himself about that. Of course, he did not reply, probably celebrating the unexpected bonanza in terms of spares sales.

    The bike looks better in the flesh than the photos, the dash in particular is gorgeous, and has ALL the info that you need, time, mileage, two trip meters etc except a low oil level indicator (which this bike needed desperately). It has a strange air duct on either side of the dash. Ask your service guy what it is for… will like the answer

    Droppng it will destroy the entire one piece fairing on one side – only the belly pan is separate. There are lots and lots of fasteners holding the fairing in place which you have to open before atually getting to the engine, say to set the clutch.

    The bar ends stick out 3″ on each side.

    All the FI bits (closed loop) are Japanese as is the entire rear brake assembly.

    Tubeless MRF at both ends.

    new zmr is having a great look..It will surely rock the indian market. the design is outstanding than any pulsar,discover.. the only disappointment is its rear look.The rear tyre could have been still wider.And when we talk about spares HH is serving a best service out in all the districts in karnataka also even in HH is still the largest selling motor vehicle,and i want the tellers not to misjudge a bike on comparison,each bike is peculiar in its properties,,especially the owners of pulsar and yamaha are a bit jealous of new karizma i think so..but still its all KARIZMA ZMR,this bike would never care for useless rumours mentioned by above would surely set back pulsar and yamaha,,The above mentioned thing,the whole content is my opinion..and people no need to bother about my opinion,,thank you,,,,,,,………….

    who told you that CBZ-Extreme is a big flop. i’m using extreme only. compared with pulsar 150/180 it is very good.

    definitely new karizma zmr will rock in indian roads.

    i agree with you Suresh. Yogesh as you said HeroHonda products are far better when compared to the ones produced by Bajaj. The pulsars are tough bikes, i agree . But the parts on pulsars are worst of their kind now,they belong to the old era. the old pulsar as said in the old ad was definitely a male, but the new one is definitely a shemale in disguise of a male ;). Coming to the CBZ extreme, belive me the engine is too good. the problems in CBZ extreme are as usual a hell lot of vibrations, top speed said is 110 but never goes more than 100kms/hr after 1 yr(25000kms). the parts are expensive but not worthy. i have a serious problem with the chasis of my CBZ Xtreme. and i dont know why by bike handle is literally fitted well for the guy on my right side. the bike ride is good but not comfortable as its bent towards the right side. this sucks mates and the service stations in Hyderabad, crowded with a genius individuals screw it to an all new level of mechanism. Pulsars on the other side are coming to a dead end after 1yr of riding, it happened practically to few of my frinds who now got themselves new F16’s and are happy with that.

    i do agree with don & suresh. hero honda products are better in quality as comparing to bajaj & other indian bikes. n dear yogesh u said its 20k more than old karizma, what abt R-15. its on road price is 1Lac plus & its just 150CC bike. then y not 225cc bike for 95K. i’m using HUNK since feb’08. it has done 38000 KM, no repairs till date except schedule services and brake shoes. and in comfort its far better that pulsar

    I was scanning through the products yesterday – essentially its a 100cc a 150 cc and a 220 cc – so they basically have 3 motorcycles after all these years – everything else is fluff from derivatives of those three basic motorcycles of theirs
    Insult upon insult to the Indian biker.

    In fact this is what pisses me off the most – our fellow indians are willing to settle for complete CRAP and actually praise innocuous things tank shape and stickers but care to craps about performance.

    bcoz rate of zmr is too high. & have only 5 gears wid low speed. rear tyre is not big then it’s rate. & have not split seats. only & only front looking. that,s it………. so modify ur bike & put some changes in ur bike………….

Will fm de info i have gathered the KMZ is 3cc more than de P220 but give an output of 17.1BHP (Claimed), where as P220 is 21.2 BHP(tested). More over I was taking to the TVS racing team in Blore.. these guys say FI on below 500cc single cylinder bikes is point less. You find FI systems only on 600+ cc multi cylinder bikes. This is quite visible since de P220 FI was giving 18 BHP n de new Carb 1 is givin 21.1. Added to all tis P220 comes with the bi-zenon lamps which HH mite require a decade to think about… I am pro P220 cuz its been on indian streets for some time now n Bajaj has spent 2 variants in removing all de problems from the 220 series. Any advice guys???

  • I am using Karizma for past 4 years. I am weighting for the ZMR to come. I am not satisfied by the body of the old karizma. It was not strong enough. The chain connected to the engine and the piston looses its temper very often in Karizma. It need to be changed very often for the smooth running of the engine. The chain and chain spracket noice is more. Digital metere sencer also to be changed every now and then. Hope Karizma ZMR will over come all these problem to the crazy Karizma riders.

    Dude wake up!! smell de coffee!!! have u checked out de bike or ur still dreaming about it!!! 6 clamps to hold tat plastic flaring which starts rattling as u reach 80+!!! its slower thn de old karizma n ya prakash your hopes have gone down de drain… HH took de old karizma n screwed it inside out n vala u have de new ZMR!!!

    They put in a already failed FI which has been taken off from Bajaj n TVS bikes thanks to its low relaibility… they forgot about things like HID lamps, mono/gas filled shocks.. their punch line should be give us a bike n well surely mess its up!!! Its said fools learn from their mistakes n de dumb fucks still dont learn!!!
    How does HH plan 2 survive de new indian biker who knows so much… Maybe they are counting on Sadaf ;)

    The ZMR needs an oil cooler as the stupidly designed fairing lowers stop all air from cooling the crank case leading to the area having much higher temperatures than the ZMA- and the cooled oil is supplied to the main bearings only, not the head, which gets only the oil pre heated in the crank case.

    Also the fuel pump is not submerged in the tank as in other vehicles and already there are reports of pump failure due to overheating.

    Beware of second hand ZMRs for sale……

    Don’t dare underestimate the bike by looking at the specs….. its definitely a wow machine…. and tht’s nt me who is saying tht bt the critics…… And this bike is nt a sports bike bt rather a sports tourer ….yet it manages to perform superior to many of the Sports bike out there in India(Basically, there r just 5 of ’em)……. It is a hell of a machine and in no way inferior to the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i (2009)…… The Bajaj is infact a fake claimer….. it says this is the fastest Indian… bt it goes no faster than 132-134 kmph bt the speedo indicates 144.. Karizma ZMR on the other hand easily reaches speeds of upto 127-128 kmph and tell me one thing… even if u buy these things , where the heck in India r u gonna test them??????? Karizma still has a better low end performance tht is infact achievable… something tht the Pulsar lacks….. and how come u think tht if a bike manufacturer can provide both good performance and low pricing, then also it doesn’t manage to set fire the sales records????? So, stop thinking and start riding the all new Karizma ZMR… Above all!!!!!!!!!!!

Check the consumer forum… 14 failed fuel pumps in ZMR till since launch.. tat is the online stats.. n when u pop ur narrow minded head to the hero honda service center ull find ZMR’s in for 1st service with failed fuel pumps!! :) coming 2 the top speed thing.. P220 2009 clocked 142 kmph n tats not the speedo reading tat was my GPS reading so ur fake speed claim goes for a toss!!! :)

    N my dear friend to bring to ur kind notice we bikers in india have a lot of “heck of places” “in India” where you can test ur machine. Check out test tracks in chennai, hydrabad, delhi n pune… they are open for races as well as day to day testing.. ur ballz mite just drop on cin these tracks!!! Or if ur not de track person set ur bike on a dyno test machines at Pro biking and Castrol performace centers!!! So plz dont think we are piggi riding “In India”.

  • It looks very sexy bike, but it shows more dangerious if its tail light is same as Karizma R, and if its tyre size will increased than no other bike will effect its image. It will be the KING of Market, for a very long time. And its sale will be increased by 30%. rather than Yamaha R15 or FZ. It will rocks the Indian roads.


    Especially they have to think on “BHP”, 17bhp is not good.


    They should do an ad without “HRITHIK ROSHAN”, seeing hrithik on this bike is very very bad.

    My, black Zmr is giving milage of 40-45 km/l on calcutta roads. I havent tested its speed yet,but when I rode it at a speed of 70-80 km it gave a milage around 50km/l. but guys plz wait for the 2nd and 3rd lot as the 1st lot is having fuel pump problems.Mine has been changed through warrenty. By looks it is far superior than P220 but I hope not in speed.Otherwise it would be there fore sale after 1.5 years due to abnormal engine noise like every model of pulsar.Yamaha R15 is the best sports bike.

    Just putting a big fairing wont make any bike look good. I have seen many locally modified old karizmas with full fairing which looked far better than the zmr. Never expected such a cheap looking modification from a reputed company like hero honda. Disappointing.

    The motorbike is good lookng from all aspects, the drawback is that Hero Honda motors (India) is not focussing on power. Don’t worry about fuel consumption. Consumers nowdays are also looking for power and power will come by manuacturing 20 plus bhp engines and 300 to 500 cc bikes. The imported bike segment has begun in India so Indian manufacturers should start making high powered motorcycles to compete with foreign bikes.

    The Indian motorcycle manufacturers are taking Indian consumers for a ride by giving them inferior bikes with a high price tag. They are just modifying the looks and adding a feature or two to upgrade. Indian consumers are falling to gimmicks played by Indian motorcycle manufacturers to buy these inferior versions of motorcycles. Don’t buy these bikes, let the sales go down. Its all about power nowdays. High output motorcycles should be manufactured, 20 to 30 bhp, 250 to 600cc engines. ABS brakes, wider tyres should be incorporated. Don’t fall for these new versions of Karizma’s and Pulsar’s, the manufacturers have only enhanced the looks with no change in performance.

    I think until manufactures start looking at motorcycles as symbols of passion and thrill we wont anything good on Indian road… I like what Royal Enfield is doing. Have any of u guys checked out de recently launched Classic 500 EFI?
    I would say that is value for money. Priced at 1.4 lakh on road, belts out 30 bhp with 40 NM torque. Comes with vintage styling front n rear disc breaks and fuel injection also!! Give it a test ride guys its worth it. Wait until u guys hear my personal testing results on it… did a 0-60 in flat 6 sec’s and top speed of 146kmph n this is not de speedo reading its GPS. I recon it would chew de ZMR raw and spit it out of tat mean looking exahuast pipe. De bike mite look vintage but its got hell lot of power!!! N de fuel injection pump does not fail in this. Bullet has been exporting FI models to europe for past 2 years … tats de time when hero honda was busy trying to cover up karisma’s age old face with make!!! :)

    I think u have got the wrong information. Classic 500 is with 27.2bhp power, 41.3nm torque and 130kmph top speed according to the royal enfield website. P220 is still the fastest Indian.

Patently even I am not a cruiser fan but the application and reforments that enfield is doing is what is expected out of a developing motorcycle breed. Point is we dont want minor tweaks and cosmetic changes we are looking for something new not revamps of 1999 models!!!

    Its thanks to compromising lil creatures like u that monster bikes like RD350, Comet, Fireblade were pulled out of India. Enjoy toying with the ZMR cuz u aint worthy of anything above that sweetheart :)

    Relax!! 1st apologies for getting personal!!! Can v start on a better note now?
    I own a Honda CBR 600RR 2005 model and trust me keeping it in good running condition is such a pain in the ass!! I am waiting for a 100% Indian sport or semi sports bike which I can live with. As a matter of fact Ninja 250 is way over priced n I would opt for buying a second hand import any day. A P220 or a ZMR is more peace of mind on India road conditions (Well maybe not a ZMR cuz of the FI problems) :) . But honestly I still stand by my view of ZMR could have been way better. The R &D put into the ZMR was quite long, infact I remember talking to guys at hero honda, the R;D on FI was on before the launch Karizma R. Now if you are willing to pool in such huge quantities of time n money into this y not look at twin cylinder motor? Remember when the 1st karisma was launched? it was priced at 1 lakh as well n so is ZMR. By the time multi cylinder engines kick in the India market the prices will again become afforadable thanks to local competetion. You can never expect Imported bikes to become affordable and if we have Indian manufactures who have de capacity to build good machines y will we spend extra on duties?

    Today you have bike mongols entering India cuz they realise Indian have the capacity to buy. Now as a reaction to this I was expecting HH and Bajaj to start hunting for bigger and meaner motors.

Its true that Indian motorcycle manufacturers are indeed trying to manufacture motorcycles within the budget of the common man but its high time they should be focussing on power and super sport motorcycles. Don’t we have enough of 100cc’s, 150’s and 200’s on Indian roads for last two decades. Don’t you guys want the feel of super sport and power motorcycles. I live in the United States and can tell you the motorcycles these guys have over here and they do not settle for anything less. If Indian consumers start demanding for high powered motorcycles and stop purchasing these re-modified versions of Kariama’s, Pulsar’s etc. Indian motorcycles should move up, they have the infrastructure but all they want to do is make money by re-modifying and rip off Indian consumers by giving then inferior products.

    Totally with u on that. Markets are run by demand and supply, if you show lack of interest in re-mods and cosmetic changes then they are compelled to change the direction of the industry.
    Yes the common man mindset is not developed to the level to start looking at performance charts rather than fuel consumption numbers but here exists a breed of riders who look at bhp’s and track figures. Ppl showed extream interest in the old karizma (de 1st model) P180’s and P220 which had low fuel economy.
    Both HH and Bajaj have been redoing the same top of the line models for almost a decade now cuz we compromise on what we get.

    With the launch of karizma zmr, hero honda revealed their incapability to produce performance bikes with enough power to stand against not only the products by foreign manufacturers but also the local pulsars and rtrs. They also showed their ability to produce the ugliest looking bikes in the world.

    In a pathetic attempt to keep up with the competition, the world’s biggest two wheeler manufacturer failed badly to keep it’s flagship product ‘above all’. Zmr is a shame to hero honda. Its a shame to the whole indian bike industry.

    kaizma zmr is truely a superb bike….it outperforms the pulsar 220 easily in terms of looks,styling,reiability, does not have the acceleration like in pulsar 220,bit the engine life is just great.ANd you do not need to go service centres,like you have to in pulsars..
    I have booked a zmr.Please anyone who already have zmr,let me know more about it,and its pros and cons…

    The ZMR is a nice bike. Received mine on the 4th of Feb on my birthday :)) But I need to be honest with you. :( Two weeks and 740kms later, the rear disc has lost its bite and the pick up just doesn’t feel the same. Add to which the engine heats up pretty soon. Wot is most irritating is, u slow down for a speed-breaker n when its done, u open its throttle to get it flyin again, only to find to my utter dismay, R15s pulling away quicker. :'( That just doesn’t feel right. (I’m pretty sure someone is gonna pop up n say, u donno sh** but ur welcome to have ur own opinion)
    I’m gonna be takin it in for its first service one of these days.
    But its not all bad. The bike looks good, well.., looks good to me, though I agree they shud’ve done more bout the rear end. Its pretty sturdy and handles real well too. Engine feels much more refined than a Pulsar. Rode up to my parents house in the hills n it was a complete pleasure riding the bike up the inclines.
    N oh, I remember someone sayin HH bikes are not known to skid when braking. With my fair share of accidents on a pulsar coz of the rear wheel skidding I thought this wud be different. Had to slam on the brakes this morning and HOLY cannoli!!! IT SKID!! lol
    Anyhow, even with all its shortcomings have started likin it n I wudn’t trade my bike in for 10 P220s! ;)

    Hey Rashed,

    Regarding the heating problem, one of my friends has the same issue with his ZMR, he’s changed the oil type from the HH recommended to ELF(m not sure of the watt rating) and apparently the problem has been solved at least for the time being :) its worth a shot. Ill let you which oil did he shift to cuz as it is liquid cooled bikes tend to run on higher temperatures n its something i have seen in P220 and avenger 200 also.

    N dont worry about the R15 being quicker champ ur machine is heavier tats it :) try a few teaks/aftermarket upgardes on air filter and sparks m sure u’ll smoke a R15!!! :) And yes HOLY CANNOLI SKIDDING!!! :) honestly the most demotivating factor to de ZMR was its rear wheel!!! out of proportion is de term 4 it!!!! I would love 2 c a ZMR on nice fat low profile radials ;) think about it :) n if u implement post a pic!!! PLZZZZZZZ!!!! :D

    Oh yes almost forgot!!! FI problem!!!! the fuel pump in the 1st n 2nd lot had very high number of failures tat 2 in span on 1000 to 2000 kms. I am hoping HH has resolved the issue :)

    Been thinking about using a K&N filter, but am pretty much lost coz, i have no idea as to wot upjetting etc. are. I figure they go hand in hand with K&Ns? :D

    Lucky u with the CBR. Its a lovely bike. I rented one from a dealer in Hamburg. Fair to say, was one of the best rides of my life!!

    I had a Yamaha Fazer (the one without the fairing) keep pace with me today. SO NOT COOL!!! :@ Maybe that’d change after the first service, atleast I hope. lol

    Well upjetting an FI is fairly simpler than usual carbs but you need real good tech’s working or it or it’ll scerwup de whole system real bad!!!

    Hav’t seen it happen on a ZMR but a lot P220 FI version in pune and mumbai .. they just change a chip and vala its done!! But trust me this aint manual stuff so dont let any 1 touch it unless they have done it for the P220. If you are around mumbai try the Bajaj pro biking center at navi mumbai.. their mech’s have experience on it.

    As far as tyres are concerned, check the tread type you want online. Michiline and MRF both have amazin treads which u can choose online. Just make sure u know ur rim size. example:
    170 is the width of the tyre in millimetres
    60 is percentage height of the side wall to the tyre width. So in this case, 60%
    17 is the rim size the tyre is designed to fit. In this case, a 17 inch rim.
    R stands for radial
    Z marks the maximum continuous speed rating for the tyre. In this example, Z indicates speeds in excess of 149mph (just read Z to mean very fast or 12 points and a ban).

    So just make sure rim size is correct. N ZMR’s wish bone is broad enough to support upto 140mm tyer thickness.

  • even if r15 is 150cc its far more better than zmr.also zmr’s looks are not dat much appriciable.fairing is nice & looks big but headlights,rear tyres dnt add much more style.& more to dat,no engine upgrades.same engine from original 2003 karizma with added fi.den karizma r is better option unless sum1 wnts 2 spend xtra money on nw looks & full fairing..this bike is only for the guys who are tourers & karizma fans.i think fans will again hv to wait for new karizma.
    If u wnt a performance bike,go 4 pulsar 220f dts-i,go 4 r15 f u wnt peformance vth gud looks & great riding pleasure.

    Hi guys, It looks people donot no much abt karizma zmr. Its much better than pulsar 220. Its so dashing & killer bike which u nt get in p220. abt speed pulsar claims more but actually it not runs upto that speed. acclrtn is much better than p220 and getting ahead other bikes is ur skill. it is heavy & stable. p220 noteven stand in looks in front off zmr. maintanence of zmr is less with rgh & tff engine. its instruments like speedo meter mileage indicator are superb.
    It also ha sgud mileage with pgmfi engine. its benefit is that it has no problem of startup in early cold mornings.senser maintains appropriate supply of oil. it is oil cooled while p220 is air cooled which makes zmr better. as due to oil cooling u can travel long without heat up.p220 is not a sports bike at all. its front is gud looking but body behind is small and does not mtch front. as compared to r15 zmr has much powerful engine. r15 is more speedy as it is light wt bt zmr is comfortable to ride. p220 beats zmr only in price and top speed (which actually it never attains)

    So whatesver anybody says zmr is true champ.
    zmr is above all.
    I will be getting it within 10 days.

    what i dnt lik in zmr is its headlight,rear tyers,& the fact that i has same old engine.
    on ur comment on speed of 220.actually even i read in bike mags dat all the bikes with digi speedos show false speeds indications except zmr.they say,there test riders gps readings showed 132kmph & the bike’s speedo showed speed over 140+kmph on 220.
    true top speeds(gps readings)are zmr-127kmph,r15-130kmph & 220-132kmph.
    i hv touched 144kmph on my bike showing on speedo.but if true top speeds are correct den despite these are new & faster bike,then how can karizmaR can go upto 135kmph on its analog speedo.i heard analog meters provide correct readings.correct me on this.if 220 is the fastest then how can it only achieve 132kmph.

    End Of The Day I always prefer a Karizma R/ ZMR.I am trustworthy so shud be ma ride.However R15 is always around – terrific byk:-).

    The shittiest bike on Indian roads, Karizma ZMR, outdated looks, crappy 150cc engine, bullshit. I use to own a Hero Honda CBZ, the first lot when it was launched in 1999. I still swear by that bikes looks and styling. Hero Honda could have upgraded that bike with a high output liquid cooled engine. Sorry guys but thats the fact.

    Listen dude…. Each one got there own opinion… I would suggest for ZMR cuz I like it… So listening to other people opinion is equilent to give up your liking… If you like something go for it… Rather being listening to others…

    And for the fact I like ZMR because primarily for the looks… But I know looks are deceptive, but still p220 and zmr have similar features but the price of zmr is more than p220… Next question should be why???
    We gotta use our brain cells… Cheap and the Best is good to say but not durable… ofcourse P220 is cheap and the best…. ZMR is expensive because it will not compromise on quality…. And know a ground rule guys… When you have a stylish bike you gotta show off… so riding them at more than 120kmph is no where showing off… people would rather say “see the way he is riding as if someone is dead” LOL… trust me thats a typical indian would say… So backtrack your thoughts… All the three bikes are awesome and have their own pros and cons… And nothing comes in the world for free… You gotta compromise on something or the other… I am not ready to compromise on my liking for ZMR so I am compromising on price (Doesn’t mean that its not worth the money)… But again its all about likings…

    Most Important… Before you could buy a bike make sure you sit on it and see if it suits you… Most them just go with the performance and looks buy never think will the bike suit you… So you could catch up with that point as well… Thats all i gotta say peepuhl…

    Huh, the debate continues, see guys, the indian biking industry needs to kick up its engine size and power. I understand that we have to compromise on the mileage but there are bikers who would not even give a damn about how many kms they get to a liter. Its all about power biking nowdays. The Indian biking industry still lags behind. Its high time they shoud start manufacturing engines between 300 and 750cc and make dual disc brakes front and rear, liquid cooled engine as a part of standard equipment.

    Abt d engine bein heated up its jus a matter of a service..d engine parts r new n r aluminium n obvious aluminium gets heated a lot at initial..wen adjusted its pretty cool..

  • ZMR is surely the best Indian bike on raod….Pulsar 220 and yamaha R15 may have better pick up and lower end torque, but on a strech..both of these bikes wont even come close to ZMR.I Ride one, so have tested it and then commented.
    The looks are just perfect for an Indian sports and definetly better than the girlish Pulsar 220…sports bike wihtout even an engine cover..! what the heck!!!
    Bajaj engine wont last for more than 5 years whereas Yamaha’s spares and service is pathetic…in all ways THE KARIZMA ZMR is the BEST. although i believe , being a mod of the old karizma,Hero honda should have used a bigger engine…may be 300cc.

    Guys… If u want to go by SPEC, go ahead n buy P-220. It’s no doubt a value for money bike.

    Here goes my story=> I took my pulsar- dtsi in the year 2004. Earlier I had a 2003 CBZ, which I sold in the year 2006. I’m happy about my pulsar performance only when it was new, ie the first 2 years. Then had to spend on repairs very frequently. I tried almost everything so that I could use it for some more time. Recently I had spent around 5k on my bike. But I feel that the condition is deteriorating again. No matter whatever I do, it goes to square 1. The person who took my CBZ is still using it as if new.

    Now that I want to sell my p-150, I’m not even getting 17k. Whereas my neighbour who took my CBZ, is getting 25k and he is not selling.

    Moral of the story=> Pulsars are good only when it’s new. If you want a bike performing for a long term, go for Hero Honda. Aisa main nahi kehta, India kehta hai!

    So, I’ve booked a Karizma ZMR. Bye-bye Bajaj.

    Hello all. I’ve covered 1000 kms with zmr. Engine is simply superb. I’m loving it. But I’ld also like to add that the sticker quality is pathetic. Hero Honda has shown it’s cheapness by using very poor quality stickers in this bike. Rest everything is ok.

    sssshhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!itz real joker it india….is it a sportz model..???it lukz lik child byk… ZMR will be excellent in LUKZ n my ZMR covers 139kms as top speed n it produces 19.5 bhp @ 9500 rpm….in color yello color will be looked as real sportz than whi or othr colorz… ZMR will alwayz the don of bykz..ZMR rocks in milage alzo…my ZMR gives average MILAGE of 41 KMS..hatzz of 2 hero honda…HERO HONDA….DHAK DHAK GO!!!!!!

    pickup and mileage is ok….but wat really satisfied me was the ausum comfort it gave while riding a country road in high speed… the road which can breakdown backbone of riders on any other bikes… not talkin abt passion types.. they r the guru of comfort.. but never expected this sporty species of hero honda to offer such high level of comfort…. seriously when i was on a pulsar on the same road i had backaches for weeks..

  • i too have a karizma zmr ,already covered 10k kms on this bike , n this bike is awesome , its superb handling, riding posture, comfort, style, designing, engine and mileage is top of the notch,, 40+kmpl , compare it to the old karizma as i had a karizma r earlier, i say this bike is way ahead in technology and performance

    liers,,, ZMR wont make 142 unless you fit a nitrogen oxide cylinder in it..(I really doubt it goin past 130 with it)…. Slowest ‘Spor’ bike of the world….. Cant call it sports…. sorry…. Disaster…. My friend do better modification than this….. Tail light looks like coconut fall on CBZ Xtreme’s tail….. Hero Honda is done…..

    Hi all, I came back after a gap of few months. You guys still ride Karizma, lol. Bloody Motorbike manufacturers in India. Stop living in the past. Make the real beefy bikes like the CBR,Ninja’s and YZF R1’s or similar. I own a Honda CBR f4i, its a used one but will make Karizma or any Indian bike lick the dirt.

    1.while washing water easily enter into petrol tank..
    2.if byk getz repaired there s much delay in getting partz
    3.mechanics are not well trained in dealer service centres…

    @lvin: I have Apache RTR 160. I made it reached 123kmph, couldn’t go further co of road restrictions. To second that, 2008 zmA reached 137kmph. (I recorded it while driving, can show u dat). Then Y can’t zmR cross 140 ??
    On d contrary, Dat beafy fairing unnecessarily adds extra weight and hampers performance. Suggest u guys to take it of if u r performance oriented.

    • Sanjay, Pulsar 200 NS mileage is expected to be better than the Karizma ZMR. Bajaj claims a mileage above 50 km/l for the Pulsar 200 NS at average speeds but exact figure we can only tell after they launch it.
