Mercedes Benz has launched a stripped down variant of the E-Class in India. The new variant is the E250 CDI Classic and will be the base variant of the diesel E-Class. The Classic losses features like bi-Xenon headlamps, LED driving lights daytime running lights, sliding sunroof and paddle shifters. The grey interiors now feature Eucalyptus wood trim and traditional gear lever instead of gear selector stalk. The E250 CDI Classic is cheaper by Rs. 2.33 lakh than the E250 CDI Elegance and is priced at Rs. 46.18 lakh (on-road Mumbai). The Classic is powered by a in-line four, 2143cc engine producing 201 bhp of power and mind blowing torque of 51kgm.
