If you are a Royal Enfield fan you will surely remember a very special type of Royal Enfield which was showcased at the 2010 Auto Expo which was the Café Racer model. This particular model has swept all the RE fans by their feet and from 2010 everybody wanted to own this retro looking sporty Enfield. Back then RE said that it was a single model made for the Expo. Good news is that you can now buy the Café Racer model powered by the UCE500  in Royal Enfield showrooms itself but after an eager wait of one and a half years. By 2013 this dream bike of many will turn into a solid thumping reality. Café Racer will be made at the new production facility being built on 50 acres of land in Chennai.

If you think the wait is too much you can customize your RE to make it look like the Café Racer by buying special kits sold by Watsonian Squire of the UK and Classic Motorcycles of USA or spend huge amounts of money to make it look similar to Café Racer. We would rather suggest to wait for some more time and pick the original UCE500 powered Café Racer.

Fas, the same look can be done in India itself at cheap rates compared to USA & UK. Here is the link..

Ninu, yes many modifying companies will do it for you. However if you buy it all done already, that is a different thing altogether.

I dont think anyone is buying such an outdated bike like RE in the USA. Even in India hardly they sell a handful and then alot of problems come, outdated looks, bad noise, engine problems, low FE, low resale value, no refinement in the engine and no development at all. The company sells almost the same bikes it sold in 1960s. Though you get alot of steel in the bike which can hurt you as well as other vehicles and people.

Abhisek, not a word of what you have written is correct! Where did you get your information from?
You may not THINK that anyone in the USA is buying these bikes but I KNOW that you are horribly and totally wrong.
FACT – in India the demand for the EFI Enfields has been so rising so fast that they have had to commence building a new factory which will allow up to 70,000 bikes P.A to be produced – the most that this marque has ever produced in its history. Demand for Enfields all over the world is higher than ever – not what might be called ‘hardly they sell a handful’!
The other points that you make Abhisek are simply missing the point – the looks, heritage design, engine sound/thump and all steel construction are what makes the bike so appealing to the many bikers who appreciate this type of engineering. Having said that if you think that the EFI bikes are the almost the same as previous Enfileds and no developed then I wonder if you actually know anything about Enfields at all!
If you want ultimate economy economy and silence buy a 110cc Honda – you deserve it!
