Finally, after a long wait, the time has arrived. Yesterday would count as one of the most memorable days in the life of an Indian motorcycle enthusiast. The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, KTM is officially here (via Bajaj of course) and their first product for India, the KTM Duke 200 was launched in India for an introductory pricing of Rs. 1.17 lakhs. The launch of the Duke 200 is indeed exciting but what is equally exciting is the future plans revealed about the KTM products. The KTM Duke 350 is expected by 2013 and the big daddy of all, the Super Duke is expected to be seen in flesh by 2014! We are equally excited as you are to see this bike come to India and we did a quick spec check to see what we are actually looking at.

The Super Duke is powered by a 75 degree V-twin cylinder, 4 stroke and liquid cooled engine having a displacement of 990cc. With a bore and stroke of 101mm/62.4mm, this engine delivers a peak power output of 118 BHP. Sitting at a height of 850mm, you get to enjoy the ride with a tubular space frame which is made from powder-coated chrome molybdenum steel. The kerb weight of the bike is around 186 kgs and uses WP Suspension Upside down 4860 ROMA PA forks at the front while a WP suspension 4618 BAVP DCC type is used at the rear. The total suspension travel at the front stands at 135mm while at the rear it is at 160mm. Stopping power is obtained with the help of twin 320mm disc brakes with radially mounted 4 piston brake callipers while it gets a 240mm single disc brake with 2 piston brake calliper at the rear. The spec chart is indeed very impressive and there is no doubt that it is surely going to set the Indian motorcycling scenario on fire. We request Bajaj to bring this bike as soon as possible.
