Hero Karizma ZMR Long Term Review

Hero MotoCorp as a solo entity has made big plans. Ever since the split with the Japanese automaker, Honda, the company has been doing anything and everything to make its brand famous. The company started its path from rebranding itself which included the well-known jingle ‘Hum mein hai Hero’ composed by A. R. Rehman. The focus shifted towards launching more products and variants and increasing the production capacity. Currently, the focus is on launching a product using its own technology.

Post-split, the company had been trying to form a good number of partnerships and collaborations. The result of the same is the partnership with firms like the US-based Erik Buell Racing (EBR), Austrian engine developer, AVL and Italian two-wheeler design firm, Engines Engineering. These technology partners will help the company to come up with products having its own technology. Plans are in place to manufacture premium segment bikes in collaboration with EBR (250cc Karizma) and other segment bikes will be developed in association with AVL and Engines Engineering.

The new series of products will be launched by 2014, however, the first one should be out in the market by end-2013. Apart from these plans, the company is also planning to introduce its bikes in the African and Latin American markets. The bikes will be customized to suit the requirements of these markets. Bigger plans lay ahead as Hero plans to increase its sales volume globally. 10 million units is the target for the next five years and India’s largest 2-wheeler manufacturer plans to have its exports account to 10 percent of its total sales.
