Pulsar 200 NS Test Ride Review

Bajaj Auto has confirmed its plans to manufacture a fuel injected version of its flagship model, the Pulsar 200 NS. The Pulsar 200 NS featuring fuel injection is planned for the Indonesian markets first. The motorcycle boasts a 200cc liquid-cooled engine, featuring a 4-valve head with SOHC layout. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox that is capable to produce maximum power outputs of 23.5 BHP and 18.3 Nm of peak torque. The fuel injection system is likely to boost performance and improve the fuel efficiency of the Pulsar 200 NS and one can expect almost Duke 200 levels of output.

Bajaj Auto will launch the fuel-injected version in India, sometime later, after Indonesia. The current model of the Pulsar 200 NS features a carburetor. The addition of the fuel injection system will make the motorcycle pricier, as the fuel injection system itself is more expensive than the carburetor. Rest of the motorcycle is likely to remain unchanged. The Pulsar 200 NS with its fuel-injected avatar will be capable of delivering improved performance competing with its cousin, the KTM 200 Duke.

The Pulsar 200 NS shares most of its technical elements with the KTM 200 Duke. The first Bajaj Pulsar featuring a fuel-injected unit was the 220 DTS-Fi, this will be the second model from the company to feature a fuel-injection system. The current Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS comes at a price of Rs. 85,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). Expect the fuel-injected version of the Pulsar 200 NS to be priced around Rs. 8,000/- higher than the regular version. The regular 200 NS will continue to sell after the fuel-injected version is launched.

    God bless bajaj…. :)

want to see a sport bike from bajaj….

  • Dhanujoy

They should have launched 200NS with Fi only. Almost all current 200ns are suffering from a messed up carb tuning which even those service centre mechanics can’t solve :(

    • Saddam husain

M gona buy 200NS,as dhanujoy mentiond above all 200NS has mesed charn tuning,i dnt knw what charn tuning is about,is it a major problem?n what all are negativ points of this bike, help me!

  • Dastan

    Good news ? Think so

  • sumit

yes the mileage will be more and the power too……

  • Charan jeet chani

I think bajaj should launch a massive 1000cc sports bike ! so, that we can feel proud that India has also an 1000cc sports bike….

    • Faisal Khan

Charan, not so soon, they will climb up the ladder slowly.

  • Saddam husain

    Sorry,its mesed up carb tuning.

  • vishnu vasu

    me also want it
but the problems are bajaj is not a known brand for sports bike makers.
We indians need milege and perfomance ,as its main market is india no one will dare to buy it because of running cost and our laws and roads never allow to run even a commuter bike freely.
If bajaj makes a 1litre engine it wont be selled as bajaj is a not a better compony ,so there will be production loss
pulsar 375 is coming lets hope it will make indians to be proud

  • Sunil
