Bajaj To Expand 100cc Segment Offerings

2013 Bajaj Discover 100T Road Test

Bajaj Auto has said recently that they will try and introduce new products into the entry level 100cc bike segment. The response to their new 100cc bike, the new Discover 100T has been pretty decent and newer products in this segment will help them gain a bigger market share. These motorcycles will be based on the platform of the 100T itself but will have their own special features for differentiation and will offer more than rivals with good pricing as well.

The Discover 100T is the first bike Bajaj Auto has offered that i priced higher tha rivals from market leader Hero MotoCorp as well as Honda. But the bike is more powerful and offers higher features which justifies the pricing. Bajaj will start aggressively marketing the bike and will wait till March to actually guage the response from the market towards the 100T. It is expected that this bike should give them 10 percent increase in market share, thus increasing overall monthly sales from 20,000 to 22,000 units.

Bajaj Auto at the moment has a 25 percent market share in the Indian market with 32 percent share in exports. The 100cc category is vital for the company to get higher sales as it comprises of 65 percent sales in India. The higher capacity bikes, which is Bajaj Auto’s strong hold, comprises just 35 percent. So the company will try to maximize sales of the Discover 100T as well as introduce newer extremely desirable products in the 100cc category to attract customers to their showrooms.

Every thing has a limit. Continuously changing the products will not help them as it will irritate the previous customers. This is evident from the monthly sales figures of honda and bajaj. Also note that dream yuga vs 200ns, 125st, 100t, and duke 200.

changing product is good…. those people who likes old scarped design to dump only hate bajaj……… Dream yuga is an scarped design in japan 23 yr old. but fool like Ben still feel it like a super sports bike Lolz…..
Bajaj is still No 2 in volumes but No 1 in exports, profit & innovation.
Honda is dumping its scarp in Indian market. even the CBR 250 is old design which is dumped in India (3 times recall due to design faults) International version of CBR 250 is better & costly than Indian version (low quality & cost reduction)

Crazy4. The indians are not like you emptying their pockets by buying bikes every now and then. They are wise in handling their hard earned money and they dont like to loiter here and there requesting spare parts. There is no innovation in bajaj its just hype, 1 sparkplug 100 claps, 2 sparkplug 1000 claps, 3 sparkplug 10000 claps. After sparkplug comes valves 1,2,…. But when it comes to realiability its a big zero. Also please note that bajaj is the leading profit maker in india swallowing peoples money by luring on the context of fake techology. If they truely innovative why didnt they solue the common issue of vibration and diaster gearbox which are prevailing for years together in their bikes. So arguing is not going to help. The more bajaj changes products the more people will shift to honda as they lose their value in market and incur huge loss to faithful buyers.
