Honda To Launch CB150R In March 2013

Honda CB150R

Honda has gone into top gear for India with new launches every few months. Honda India will launch, the all new CB150R street bike in March 2013. The Honda CB150R is the naked version of the fully-faired CBR150R sports bike which the Japanese company launched last year. Honda recently launched its three scooters, Activa, Dio and Aviator with new better engines with updated technology. Now with this new motorcycle, Honda seems to be keeping its promise of launching a new product every quarter of the year.

The Honda CB150R is based on the concept of the high end naked sports bike, the CB1000R, and is also a street fighter. It is powered by the same engine as the CBR150R sports bike albeit with a different tuning. The 150cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine produces a peak power of 16.8 BHP at 10,000 RPM and 13.1 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM. The CB150R is down by about 0.8 BHP as compared to its fully-faired sibling and weighs 129 kgs. The frame as well as the front and monoshock rear suspension are carried over from the CBR150R. The CB150R is a naked bike, so the sitting position is more upright and ergonomics are more comfort oriented.

In India the entry level sporty 150cc bike category has always been the hottest selling segment. In spite of many manufacturers having great products in the category, the new Honda CB150R should give a good fight to its competition. We can expect this motorcycle to be very refined, great to ride in city commutes as well as deliver good performance when in the mood of fun and games on the open road. Like other Honda bikes, we can expect the CB150R to do well in India hoping that the company will price it competitively unlike its overpriced sibling.

Nice move. Hoping to find CBR250 also coming this way.

Waiting for a response from Yamaha !!!

  • Akash

Yamaha probably will launch a quarter liter bike next year.

Yaa, price is a main concern for honda…

  • Maddy

its design look like pulsar 200ns….!!!

    • bhaskar

200ns “borrowed” its design from the original cb1000

    • Akash

      Bhaskar u r right….

    • Crazywheels

200 NS is rightly inspired from CB1000, no doubt.

    • naveen

Are you nuts ! design looks like punny 100cc twister

    • naveen

front looks like suzuki hayate ! its a true copy paste

  • Mahadev

Hence Yamaha discontinued the MT-o1…..I think Yamaha should think of coming with a 300cc air cooled (like MT-01) with low compression engine (like bullet) with Cogged belt final drive and at a very very controlled pricing (like FZ16). With goodies like rear disc brake, Delta frame, cast swing arm, Silencer below seat, LED stop light. Final pricing on road 1.2 lakhs…?? What would you say Yamaha..??

    • yila

Controlled price like FZ16? Is FZ16 that cheaper compared to the competitions like GS150R or Bajaj 200 NS etc?

  • Arjun Bagga

well it is a upgradation of dazzler just that it has a fi version in it. Well waiting to get my hands on this

looks like a normal commuter i don’t think this can compete with NS .

    R15 Is way better

  • yila

It is the Price and performance comparison between CB150R and Bajaj 200NS that matters. Eager to see who is going to win.

  • pulsarboy

****** Bike….just look at this crap design…nor have a power or style. honda is now in serious trouble. 100 to 250 cc are flop. still unable to manage sell bikes. scotter sales too are declining. hondo getting ****** up.

If its price is more than NS them who will buy it ? Thats the bigger question ?isn’t it ?

  • sree

this will be a total failure since this will be a premium motorcycle and will be priced in the range of Pulsar 200 NS…..

  • george

yamaha should bring in a optional tourer handle kit for R15 which include conventional handle bar , handle crown plate , longer cables (if required) so that the bike can cater to all classes bikers.present handle position suits only track, short rides. or else what about a V-IXION for India ?

  • naveen

I agree honda have list of failure in indian market. all selling crap old design.cbr150 is a shit of masterpeice. this bike looks like a 100cc twister. do you think this bike can stand some where around pulsar 200NS ? :o
honda needs to wake up. scooter sales are going down. they already have lauched bike from 100 to 1000cc….now what ? they need to increase some delear in village…but this also will not work as the existing delear itself are crap…
