Polaris is known internationally for its ATV line-up. The American manufacturer is planning to introduce its Victory Motorcycles brand in the Indian market later this year. The premium motorcycle brand aims to compete head on with the legendary brand, Harley-Davidson. The Victory Motorcycles product portfolio features a range of bikes powered by V-Twin engines including cruisers, baggers and touring motorcycles. The manufacturer rolled out its first Victory motorcycle in the year 1998.

The motorcycle which is expected to enter the Indian shores is the range starter Victory Vegas 8-Ball cruiser, which is priced at $12,499 (Rs. 6.74 lakhs) in the U.S. market. The Vegas 8-Ball cruiser is powered by a V-Twin engine, which produces a hefty torque figure of 149 Nm mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This cruiser motorcycle comes equipped with EFI, 4-valve overhead cams, hydraulic lifters and self adjusting cam chain tensioners. The Vegas 8-Ball looks gorgeous wearing a full black theme.

For comfortable riding position, the Victory Vegas 8-Ball cruiser features a low solo seat and pulled-back handlebars. The suspension setup includes conventional telescopic front fork and air adjustable mono-tube with constant rate linkage at the rear. The Victory Vegas 8-Ball cruiser has a dry weight of about 290 kgs. We can expect Polaris to introduce Victory motorcycles with more options as well. The demand and competition for the premium motorcycle segment is heating up in the Indian market.
