2013 Maruti SX4 Facelift Exterior

Maruti Suzuki had launched the SX4 sedan in India in the year 2007 and since then it has seen only a few mild cosmetic changes. The automaker is ready with another mild upgrade for the SX4 and our friends at IAB have revealed the details. The changes on the exterior of the SX4 facelift include a new front grille tipped with oodles of chrome, new front bumpers with revised air dam, new housing for the front foglamps, turn indicators on ORVMs and two new colour options of Serene Blue and Granite Grey.

Coming to the interiors of the facelifted SX4, a major upgrade can be seen on the multimedia system featuring a touch screen with GPS navigation system, voice activated commands system, AUX-in, card reader. ORVMs are electrically adjustable and are now foldable as well unlike the existing model, which doesn’t have folding ORVMs function. The existing model features all-beige interiors while the upcoming model features black dashboard treatment with beige doors as we had seen on the first model when it was launched. The colour of the faux wood inserts on the door panels is now darker and the door handles get chrome treatment.

There will be no mechanical changes on the facelifted model, it will be powered by the same 1.6-litre VVT petrol engine that produces 104 BHP with 145 Nm torque, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor that produces 89 BHP with 200 Nm torque, mated to only a 5-speed manual gearbox. All in all, there are no major changes in the SX4 facelift and the strategy of introducing the upgraded version is to get the sales going. The SX4 currently comes with a starting price of Rs. 7.11 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and we expect the facelifted model to be priced similarly.
