Datsun Hatchback Sketch

Datsun has just released official sketches of the soon to be launched hatchback (codenamed K2). The all-new hatchback will be unveiled at a world premiere event of the Nissan owned sub-brand on the 15th of July in New Delhi, India. Datsun will be launching the hatchback as its first product made for the Indian market, which will hit the showrooms in 2014. The revival of Datsun brand was announced back in March 2012 and finally this month will see the introduction of the brand in the emerging markets like India, Indonesia and Russia, followed by South Africa.

The hatchback will be based on the previous generation Nissan Micra but as we can see from the sketches, it will boast modern and fresh styling elements unlike the old Micra. The new hatchback is expected to have roomy interiors. With heavy localization in order to keep the costs low, we expect the new Datsun hatchback to be priced between Rs. 3-4 lakhs. The hatchback will attack entry level premium hatchbacks like the Hyundai i10, Maruti Ritz and Honda Brio. The Japanese automaker claims that Datsun models will be developed individually for different markets.

They promise to offer an engaging driving experience, hassle free ownership with highly competitive pricing on their products. The product values and localization will be supported by Nissan Motor Company. According to Vincent Cobee, Head of Datsun, the company will provide competitive products and services along with superior value and specifically developed products for the emerging and ambitious new middle class in high-growth markets. Datsun is also launching today, their new website – www.datsun.com .
