2014 Honda Jazz Rendering

“Kitna deti hai?” The first question which everybody asks in India when talking about a car or bike. Well the answer is extremely important to us in India but we are not the only cost conscious people around as buyers worldwide are increasingly becoming worried about the running costs of their vehicle. Understanding this outlook, Honda is targeting the world’s highest fuel economy figure for a production vehicle with the next generation Jazz, due for launch in Japan by the end of the year.

The next generation Honda Jazz is India bound and will hit our shores as soon as early 2014. However don’t get too excited as the Indian Jazz won’t be the most frugal vehicle in the world. Although it will be the same car, the hybrid version of the Jazz is expected to deliver a mileage of 102 mpg in Japan (around 36 km/l). Currently the Toyota Aqua (Prius) is the most frugal car in Japan with a mileage of 35.4 km/l. These figures are astonishingly good but remember they are not what you and me will get in real world conditions.

These renderings of the Honda Jazz show the car to be bigger than before although the styling is a mixed bag, you either love it or you hate it. Honda will launch the Jazz in India with a diesel engine which is the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC mill that does duty in the Amaze, producing 100 BHP of power. The Japanese company is on a product offensive and plans to bring in more products based on the Brio and Jazz platform to India. Could Honda make a brave move and launch the hybrid version of the Jazz too?
