Toyota Rush Facelift

Toyota has launched a facelifted version of the Rush in Indonesia. The Toyota Rush is a compact SUV which is a tad longer, wider and taller than the Renault Duster. The Rush facelift gets some cosmetic changes on the exteriors as well as interiors. The bumpers are redesigned and on the high end trims you get a TRD Sportivo kit which includes sportier bumpers with TRD badging all around. The headlamps have now grown up into projector lamps. All the variants of the Toyota Rush are now updated with dual airbags as standard.

On the inside, the Toyota Rush comes with a black themed interior unlike the outgoing beige tone. The steering wheel gets leather wrapping with audio controls. Interestingly, Toyota is offering a third row seat as an accessory with the compact SUV. The Toyota Rush is only powered by a petrol engine option in the Indonesian market, which is a 1.5-litre DOHC VVT-i engine that produces a peak power of 109 PS with a peak torque of 144 Nm, mated to a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

The Toyota Rush facelift is priced in Indonesia for 20,56,00,000/- Rupiah (Rs. 12.3 lakhs) for the base variant. We expect Toyota to launch the Rush in India, which can help lift the company’s fortunes. The compact SUV segment is gathering tremendous demand in our country. If launched in India, the Toyota Rush will take on the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Safari Storme. The Etios twins failed to woo Indian buyers but if the Japanese automaker launches the Rush with a diesel engine and aggressive pricing, they can expect decent volumes.
