Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R ABS

You read it first on MotorBeam. Kawasaki recently sent out invites for an event on 4th September 2013. The invite didn’t state which bike is being launched but our guess was right. We thought the motorcycle being launched is the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and now our source has confirmed the same with us. The Japanese automaker is launching its litre-class offering in India, which will be brought in via the CBU route. While prices continue to remain a mystery, our guess is the the Ninja ZX-10R will be priced around Rs. 20 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).

What is even more interesting is the fact that Bajaj Auto won’t sell the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R through all its pro-biking stores (which are now better known as KTM showrooms). Instead the Ninja ZX-10R will be retailed through only a select few pro-biking showrooms. For Maharashtra, the flagship Kawasaki will be sold through the company’s own showroom in Pune which is a new set up. This means any buyer in Maharashtra will have to get their ZX-10R from Pune. The company has got 5 bookings already and there will be limited numbers allotted to India.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is powered by a 998cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine which generates a massive 194 BHP of peak power and 112 Nm of twisting force. What is mind boggling about the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R are its performance figures. 0-100 km/hr takes a mere 2.8 seconds while 0-160 km/hr takes under 5.5 seconds. Keep the throttle pinned and this litre-class Kawasaki will blaze past 240 km/hr in just 10 seconds. That is 0-240 km/hr in just TEN seconds. The 0-290 km/hr sprint takes under 18 seconds, phew. Top speed is limited to 300 km/hr but if the limiter is removed, you very well know what this green machine can do, enough said.

Waiting to see Ninja in Banglore….. One of my favourite liter class Sportsbike. Price is very high, But NINJA is Green!! Price does’nt matter. I think RC8 is also offering at same price.

  • Prabhat

Why not ZX6R… It will be cheaper and more practical then ZX10R.

    • Rahul

They don’t give a damn about your and mine practicality. They just offer some CBU to some rich people to earn some serious money. That is all they care about. The Japanese have been doing it for ages and I think it’s time we forget them and move on to KTM, BMW and other European brands who are going to provide better options/ power to the mass market rider.

    • Prabhat, they already have the Ninja 650.

    • karan

but ninja 650 is nowhere near the performance level of ZX6R, also ZX6R could be the performance bike we all have been waiting for, it will probably cost about 10lakh but will offer performance and thrill close to Litre class bikes. India needs a 600cc performance bike ASAP.

    • Karan but do we need such a hardcore machine for our roads?

  • Jaspreet singh

You go to any part of the world and you will mostly come accross japanesse bikes..i had support asian market than european…well its all due to mindset of indian people….our people go for mileage in every bike…..we save money fot future generations to come….unlike west where they dont care for mileage, they live in today not tommorow….

    • ToRqUe

“unlike west where they dont care for mileage, they live in today not tommorow….”
well let the Price become $100/Gallon in the US (which is impossible in the 1st place)
      then use the same statement
they plan well for the future thats the reason they enjoy “TODAY”

“we save money fot future generations to come” “well its all due to mindset of indian people…
our money will soon have no value… & our mindset is our own doing
we dont want to grow!!! ppl are happy with mileage bikes & cheap cars so much that they forget safety features & quality for what they spend on..
      Sad story
i rather well work my a$$ off & earn enough to get a sports bike than sleep whole day & settle for a Discover 150

    • AJ

      well said!!!

    KWACKER!!!!!!!!!!! #10R #EEEeeeeeeHHhhAAaaaaaaaa

  • tanzil shaikh

This monster will rock on the road !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the problem is about its price.
    Its tooooooooooo much !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ben

what is the reason for this late launch. also if you compare it with r1, gsxr1000 and cbr1000rr, there is no great difference. also 20lakhs is unjust. hayabusa costs mere 13lakhs. it’s power delivery is also not as crisp as it’s other 3 counterparts.

    • Ben, Hayabusa used to cost Rs. 13 lakhs. Remember CBU duty was hiked earlier this year and Rupee has depreciated heavily too.

  • Baljinder

I think Hayabusa cost nearly to 15 lacs If Am wrong……
But Ninja is well known for Better Performance and unmatchable TORQUE. This two things seriously a HIT on others Sportbikes.

    • Baljinder, yes the Hayabusa is Rs. 15 lakhs (ex-showroom), so near to Rs. 20 lakhs (on-road). CBU bikes have higher registration and RTO charges.
