Toyota Innova Facelift Launched In India

Total Shares 0

Toyota has soft launched the Innova facelift. The changes on the new Innova are purely cosmetic, retaining the same mechanicals. The changes to the Toyota Innova include a revised front bumper with healthy chrome additions on the radiator grille, fog lamp surround and side moulding with the rear getting a chrome garnish with reflectors. The chrome additions are only for the VX and Z trims.

The interiors more or less remain the same with a slightly tweaked multimedia system and faux wood finish on the doors and gear knob along with two-tone seats. The Japanese automaker is expecting some action in terms of volumes with the updated Innova for the 2014 model year. The festive month has just begun and the carmaker has introduced the new model in order to cash in on the big opportunity. The 2014 Toyota Innova now comes with a new range topping Z variant, which is being offered with the diesel engine option only, in 7-seat layout. Rest of the variants come with both 7-seat and 8-seat layout options.

The starting price for the diesel spec Innova is Rs. 10,89,364/- for the base G variant. While the fully equipped Z variant retails at Rs. 15,06,718/-. The basic petrol G variant retails at Rs. 10,20,345/- (the E and G grades remain unchanged and continue in pre-facelift form), while the petrol high end VX is priced at Rs. 13,69,530/- (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The updated Innova gets a touch-screen infotainment system (with DVD, Bluetooth, USB and Aux connectivity) on the VX and Z variants while the new Z variants also gets a grey wooden panel, chrome on parking brake button, ‘premium’ floor mats, leather seats (mix of artificial and genuine), body graphics, chrome muffler cutter and rear spoiler. The facelifted Innova is available in 6 colours namely silver, gold, white, grey, blue and red. These colours are available on all variants, so white is offered even on the top-end VX and Z trims but there is no black colour on offer.

Just few days ago, Toyota hiked the prices of Innova and the facelift retains these prices except for the diesel powered GX and VX variants that see a marginal price increase of Rs. 9000-11,000/-. Toyota dealers are also offering three package deals with Innova that includes a ‘Genuine Accessories pack’ priced at Rs. 7495/-, ‘3M body care package’ priced at Rs. 11,301/- and ‘Toyota Car Care’ priced at Rs. 6557/-. Both the 2.5-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engines are carried forward from the outgoing model, retaining the same performance figures. Toyota has sold more than 4.30 lakh units of the Innova in India since its launch more than 9 years ago.

Not sure what does Toyota thinks of Indian customer base, but its high time this shabby practice of facelifts are stopped. Adding chrome and tons of it year after year, changing grilles and tail lamps (hardly) does no good, neither its anything to be cared about. The design frame still looks a decade old, its time a completely remodelled family vehicle was re-launched.

Amx, Toyota has hired jokers are its designers.

When will poor Indian customers qualify for a Multi-info touch screen display?

    • Faisal Khan

Yila, when we stop running behind Toyota just for its badge.

What is wrong with Toyota designers. Look at the front grill. Previous one is much better than this. Now the time is come for the all new generation look. Toyota will must work on that.

Sufian, Toyota is making hay while the sun shines.

Car manufactures do mug of india with models that have ran in some cases abroad over a decade ago. The Innova does not exist in Europe as its such an inferior van based product… Just wouldn’t sell here. What the customer base in india fail to do is research. Buy only cars that are available in Europe as the same time. This would give you a good indication if a car is actually any good. Cars like the Cruise, SX4 & Hyundai’s are all acceptable cars in Europe therefore would do a great job in india… We don’t have any tata or mahindra cars because they don’t pass safety tests and are inferior in many ways inc mechanically. Don’t be mugged off and buy the rubbish that these manufactures think they can get away with. Wake up India you deserve better. I’m not talking premium cars likes of BMW and Range Rover cause they are the same all round the world but everyday middle class cars. Remember if they are good enough for fussy Europeans they’ll be good enough for you guys in India. Don’t buy the rubbish they sell in China and ship over to india for a decade of face lifts and fob offs…..

Toyota should be ashamed to propose in 2013 so horrendous cars for the Indian market. It is time that the Indians make their voices heard and they can buy cars beautiful, reliable and safe with good engines. If Toyota was trying to sell a car like the INNOVA Europe, customers would die with laughter thinking it was a bad joke.

This will still sell. Pathetic indians will try reason out with this being best ‘offroad machine with high comfort levels’ n put some bull bars on this thing and drive. Honestly hands down this car wins as the most irritating vehicle on indian roads along with suzuki wagonR and its cousin Ritz. Plz dont justify them as cars with me

    • Faisal Khan

      That comment was super LOL.

  • N.kishorekumar.
