While the launch of the Street 750 is making waves for Harley-Davidson in India, the Milwaukee based motorcycle manufacturer has launched the 2014 Dyna Low Rider and the SuperLow 1200T in its home market in the USA. Both the models will be available in the US from mid-2014 onwards.

The first cruiser to be launched is the 2014 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider which is powered by a 1690cc, air-cooled, Twin Cam 103, V-Twin engine which is capable of producing 134 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The twin-cylinder engine looks at home done up in a two-tone wrinkle black and chrome. Adding to the brawny appeal of the cruiser is the two-into-one exhaust. The wrinkle black treatment also continues on the tank mounted instrument console with the speedo and tachometer. Harley has used generous amounts of chrome all over maintaining the cruiser back styling of the Low Rider.

Harley went back to the original 1977 Low Rider for inspiration giving it a retro yet modern appeal. The company also provides a range of customisation options on the Low Rider to suit your riding style with changes to the ergonomics of the cruiser as well. The handlebar and seat are also adjustable, making it suitable for riders of all shapes and sizes. The Dyna Low Rider also gets 5-spoke aluminium wheels, twin disc front brakes as well as optional two-tone paint job.

The next offering to hit the American market is the Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T, where the T stands for Touring. The power cruiser uses a 1202cc air-cooled, Evolution, V-Twin engine that produces 96 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. It is for the first time that a V-Twin engine has been fitted into a SuperLow frame. The cruiser has been designed to suit the riders with height in the range of 5.1-5.7-inches.

The SuperLow 1200T gets lockable saddlebags, quick detach docking points as well as a detachable windscreen. The cruiser also gets twin-exhausts and split 5-spoke cast aluminium alloy wheels. The tear drop shaped fuel tank holds up to 17 litres of fuel, while the fuel economy is rated at 20.4 km/l, giving it an extensive range while touring. Stopping power comes from a 300 mm disc with a 38 mm dual piston setup. ABS is also available on the cruiser as an option.

The 2014 Dyna Low Rider has been priced at $14,199 (Rs. 8.69 lakhs), while the SuperLow 1200T has been priced at $11,799 (Rs. 7.22 lakhs) in the US. Harley says that the new motorcycles along with Project Rushmore and the Street models are courtesy of the customer feedback it received for its products that helped them improve and provide the riders with technically advanced motorcycles infused with the Harley DNA.
