DC Design is famous in India for its modified cars. The company now takes the honour of making India’s first ever sports car (the Goa made San Storm was India’s first convertible car). Dilip Chhabria (founder of DC Design) was assiduous about making this economical sports car and outstandingly deserves the success which the yet to be launched vehicle is bringing. The DC Avanti has already received a pre-booking of 450 cars. The company will start delivering it to customers from March 2015.

The firm renowned as tuner of vehicles has transformed its competence to construct this pace-setter vehicle. The name of the vehicle Avanti is said to be inspired from the Studebaker Avanti of the comic “The Adventures of Tintin”. The two-seater automotive was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. It is mounted with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine sourced from French automaker Renault. The mid-engined vehicle has a 6-speed manual and the motor delivers 250 BHP of power, the claimed 0 – 100 km/hr time is under 7 seconds. The car gets a digital instrument panel with the resolution like that of an tablet.

Dilip Chhabria believes the car is mainly designed for the young blood and that the ground clearance of the vehicle cannot stop Indian customers from buying this performance vehicle. The car can tackle the erratic speed breakers in India. The company is producing around 500 cars a year and wants to increase production to 2000 cars by the end of next year. After a delay of one and half year, the Pune based company is all set to rollout the DC Avanti, so buckle up and hold your guts to watch this racy car on the road.
