Benelli will be retailing five bikes in India through 9 dealerships located across major metros and will expand its base to 20 outlets by this year-end.

DSK Benelli India Launch
Benelli will update its bikes with ABS by year-end starting with the TNT 300 & 600

Having announced its entry in India in October last year, Benelli has finally launched five of its performance motorcycles in the country priced between Rs. 2.83 to Rs. 11.81 lakhs. The oldest motorcycle maker in the world, the Chinese-owned Italian manufacturer’s lineup comprises of street fighters as well as a tourer and their partners DSK have kept the prices competitive. The manufacturer will be commencing deliveries tomorrow itself and has received close to 100 bookings for its high-performance motorcycles.

Offering something for everyone right from the entry-level performance space to the top-of-the-line sports segment, Here are the prices for Benelli’s offerings (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi) –

1) Benelli TNT 300 – 2,83,000/-
2) Benelli TNT 600i – 5,15,000/-
3) Benelli TNT 600 GT – 5,62,000/-
4) Benelli TNT 899 – 9,48,000/-
5) Benelli TNT 1130 – 11,81,000/-

All the bikes will be coming in the country via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route (even in the future) unless they are difficult to homologate, which Benelli says won’t be an issue in most cases. The company will be operating through nine dealerships located in major metros across the country and plans to expand the outlets to 20 by the end of the current year. DSK Motowheels also stated that it could move out of the Wai plant if the demand increases.

Benelli had showcased three new products including the KeewayBlackster cruiser, TNT 25 and TreK Amazonas at India Bike Week last month and only the TNT 25 has been confirmed for launch by year-end. The Blackster cruiser’s launch remains dicey at present and could possibly be even discarded from being launched in the country. Benelli will also update the existing range with ABS later this year and equip the feature on the TNT 300 and 600 models over the next few months while the TNT 899 and 1130 will get it by the end of the year. ABS though will be an optional feature for now, until it is mandated by the government in 2017.
