The Triumph Tiger XRx is an all out adventure motorcycle

After recently unveiling its new Tiger range at the 2015 India Bike Week in Goa, Vimal Sumbly, managing director of Triumph Motorcycles India, had said that they will be launching the new 2015 Tiger 800 XRx and XCx variants India soon, the date has now been revealed and the launch will take place on the 12th of March. Globally, Triumph has launched four new Tigers – namely the XC, XR and two higher variants called the XCx and the XRx, but only the later of the four will make their way to our shores.

Both the Tiger XCx and XRx have a similar engine, but both the bikes get different features which set them apart. The Tiger range consists of Triumph’s new adventure motorcycles which will be joining their existing line-up in the Indian market. The Triumph Tiger XCx and Tiger XRx sport an in-line three-cylinder 800cc liquid-cooled engine which delivers 95 PS of power along with 79 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and returns a fuel efficiency of around 25 km/l.

Both bikes feature ABS, three riding modes, traction control, cruise control, adjustable windscreen, traction control, throttle maps, advanced trip computer, AUX input, hand guards and much more. Few optional accessories are also likely to be offered. The two Tigers can be differentiated amongst each other quite easily as the Tiger XCx gets spoke wheels, while the Tiger XRx will ride on alloy wheels. There will also be a difference in ground clearance among the two making the XCx a more off-road compliant motorcycle and the XRx more of a tourer. Expect the prices to be upwards of Rs. 12 lakhs.
