The third-generation Audi TT has landed in India from Hungary. The design language has become sharper to make it look sleek.

2015 Audi TT
The new Audi TT is lighter and slightly smaller than its predecessor

The Audi TT is an iconic two-door sports car from the Volkswagen owned subsidiary Audi. The first-generation Audi TT was launched in 1998 and it became an instant hit while creating a huge fan following due to its unique styling. It has been learnt that several units of the third-generation Audi TT have been imported to India from Hungary (Audi TT’s homeland) to most probably cater to orders for the latest iteration of the iconic TT.

The new generation Audi TT takes a huge leap over its predecessors in terms of improving the overall drivability of the sports car. It uses the now common MQB platform which is present in all front-wheel and all-wheel driven cars from the Volkswagen Group. The imported Audi TTs sport a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine mated to a S-tronic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive. It has a maximum power of 227 BHP and the car can sprint from standstill to 100 km/hr in 5.3 seconds. It can touch an electronically limited top whack of 250 km/hr.

The interiors of the new Audi TT is a luxurious place to be in. Sporty bits include jet-like air vents and a flat-bottom steering wheel design. A large 12.3-inch TFT screen instrumentation is present in the car which can allow the driver to customize the size for the speedometer and tachometer to make a large space available for the navigation map and other display functions which is designed like a Virtual Cockpit. The Audi TT will not cost less than Rs. 60 lakhs in India. We expect mid-2015 launch.
