Sportier versions of the Porsche Boxster S and Cayman S, the Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS have been launched in India targeting supercar enthusiasts.

Porsche India has just launched the GTS versions of the Boxster and Cayman models. The GTS or Gran Turismo Sport version of two of the best selling Porsche sports car models in India, are the performance version of their S version counterparts and are equipped with uprated engines and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis. The Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS supercars have been priced at Rs. 1.15 crore and Rs. 1.17 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The GTS versions of the Boxster and Cayman have been launched to cater to Porsche purists and true sports car enthusiasts in the country and both the cars excel visually and dynamically while assuring a rewarding ownership and driving experience.

Both the Porsche GTS supercars get a 3.4-litre, six-cylinder engine, however the power outputs differ for each of them. The Boxster GTS gives out 330 BHP of power at 6700 RPM and 370 Nm of torque between 4500-5800 RPM, whereas the Cayman GTS churns out 340 BHP of power at 7400 RPM and 380 Nm of torque between 4750-5800 RPM. The GTS models have been tuned in a way to generate 15 BHP and 10 Nm more than the S versions. The GTS’ gets a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) automatic gearbox, driving power to the rear wheels and an additional Sport Chrono package is standard on both cars.

The Porsche Boxster GTS sprints from 0-100 km/hr in 4.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 279 km/hr and the Cayman GTS on the other hand can hit 100 km/hr from standstill in 4.6 seconds, having a top speed of 283 km/hr in the Sport Plus mode. Porsche claims that both the models deliver about 12 km/l according to the New European Driving Cycle.

On the design front, the two vehicles get a unique front end and a GTS special modified rear-end and blackened bi-xenon headlights and tail-lights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). The driver can select a sportier or a more comfortable ride with just a push of a button thanks to PASM, which is an electronic damping control system fitted as standard. Both the two-seaters come with Alcantara leather sports seats and an optional Bose Surround Sound System which produces an impressive listening experience.
