After Volkswagen, Skoda India has come up with a ‘Zeal Edition’ which brings about only interior changes across its whole model range

Skoda offers a Black package for the Rapid on the top-end Elegance variant

Skoda has been operating in India since November 2001 as a subsidiary of Skoda Auto from Czech Republic, which is one of the oldest car companies in the world and headquartered in Mladá Boleslav. Skoda Auto India currently has four models on sale in India, namely,  Skoda Superb, Skoda Octavia, Skoda Yeti and the Skoda Rapid. A simple way of clearing out existing inventory is by launching limited and special edition variants. Various manufacturers have been sticking to this very mantra for a long time now which is led by none other than Maruti Suzuki.

Volkswagen had announced the launch of the Vento Magnific Special Edition yesterday and so did Skoda. Skoda India announced the launch of the ‘Zeal Edition’ across its entire model range. The Zeal edition will sport series changes to the interiors of the Superb, Octavia and Yeti products, whereas, the Rapid gets a comprehensive accessory package available across its three variants. The cars remain untouched on the exteriors and mechanical front.

The Skoda Rapid has been segregated from the other three cars of the same stable. The Zeal Edition brings about changes in the interiors of each car. The Superb, Octavia and Yeti model range will sport premium black interiors including – black Alcantara leather seats, black dashboard and black door trims. For the Rapid, the Zeal edition will feature leatherette and Alcantara seats, a navigation device with rear view camera, rear Parktronics, observation mirror and floor textile mats. The Zeal Edition was launched yesterday and is a limited period offer.

Though a very good car, the Octavia is not doing good on the sales front
