Bajaj has decided to play all its cards in a move to regain its market share. The company recently launched the much awaited Pulsar RS 200, hoping to eat into the Yamaha R15’s sales. Bajaj has many more motorcycles lined up in the launch pipeline including the semi-faired Pulsar 200 AS, to cater to adventure tourers. But it seems that Bajaj is taking the adventure tourer segment rather more seriously as the Pulsar 150 AS was caught almost completely ready while it was testing near Lonavala.

The Pulsar 150 AS as seen in the pictures comes with a well designed quarter fairing which extends up to a big visor which is aimed at providing the motorcycle rider from wind blasts while going on long journeys. The motorcycle also has a lamp-powered projector headlight cluster and a fuel tank which looks similar to that of the Pulsar 200 AS. What differentiates the 150cc tourer from its more powerful offering, the Pulsar 200 AS are slimmer tyres, a smaller engine bay with an absent radiator and more importantly the absence of a rear disc brake. The spied Pulsar 150 AS also has a split saddle seat and looks well proportioned from all visible angles.

No additional details of the motorcycle can be determined at the moment but it will most probably feature a new 150cc, DTS-i, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Parts sharing from the upcoming Pulsar 150 NS is also highly expected including the switches and instrument cluster.

Bajaj also seems to have upgraded this 150cc offerings to a perimeter frame as seen on the test bike. Telescopic forks are used for the front suspension and a monoshock suspension setup is seen at the rear. While the rear disc has been given a miss, the front does get one and the presence of ABS can only be dreamt of. The Pulsar 150 AS looks showroom ready and is virtually weeks away from launch.
