Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Bookings

Having introduced its new range of Pulsars including the RS 200, 200 AS and 150 AS at an event in Pune earlier today, Bajaj Auto spoke about its new flagship the RS 200 that managed to garner 3500 bookings within a month of its launch. The number comes as overwhelming to Bajaj that had originally set a monthly sales target of 3500 units. The company also stated that the premium sports bike is still to be made available in certain parts of the country, hinting that the booking numbers are likely to see a jump in the coming months.

Bajaj had initially stated that the company had received 1000 bookings prior to the launch and the rest 2500 have come post the model hitting the showrooms. Given the hype surrounding the Pune-based bike maker’s newest offering followed by the positive response, the RS 200 has opened to a good start but we expect the numbers to settle down in the next few months once the hype eases out and will give us a much clearer perspective on the RS 200’s sales performance.

Doing a quick reminder on the specs, the Pulsar RS 200 uses the 199.5cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve, triple-spark, single-cylinder engine with fuel injection tuned to churn out 24.5 PS of power at 9750 RPM and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. In addition, the RS 200 also holds the title of being the fastest Pulsar yet with a top speed of 141 km/hr and also gets improved braking performance with the single-channel ABS unit while it also gets telescopic front forks and nitrox monoshock rear setup.
