Facing a tough time in 150cc bike sales, Honda seems worried and will soon launch an updated version of the CB Trigger which will feature only cosmetic changes.

2015 Honda CB Trigger
The new model will come in a shade of blue and some graphics

The 150cc two-wheeler segment has a lot of products from Bajaj, Hero, Honda, Yamaha, TVS and Suzuki. The battle has always been fierce and it keeps getting interesting with every new bike that gets launched. Manufacturers are always trying to come up with new marketing tactics and product refreshes to keep sales going. While most of them are successful, there are some companies who do not sell in satisfactory numbers. Honda sells the CB Trigger in the 150cc segment and the bike has been selling in very less numbers of late. To counter this, the company might launch a facelift version of the bike soon.

The 2015 Honda CB Trigger will most likely be just a cosmetic job. The bike might get new graphics and a new shade of blue, that can be seen in the spy pictures below the camouflage. Apart from that, Honda might just add refreshed lights both at the front and rear. No other changes are expected and mechanicals are likely to remain the same. Honda was facing heat from competition in September 2014 too, when the company upped the CB Trigger’s power figures post launch of the Suzuki Gixxer. The CB Trigger is powered by a 149.1cc engine giving out 14.5 PS of power and 12.5 Nm of torque.

Talking about April 2015 sales figures in the 150cc segment, Hero sold 3850 units of the Xtreme and 1301 units of the Hunk while TVS sold 20,649 units of the Apache. Bajaj sold 38,549 and 4149 units of the Pulsar and Discover 150 respectively. Yamaha managed to sell 15,936 units of the FZ and Suzuki sold 4607 units of the Gixxer. Compared to these manufacturers, Honda sold only 1479 bikes in the 150cc segment (doesn’t include the CB Unicorn 160), out of which 393 units were of the CB Trigger, 293 units of the CB Unicorn 150 and 793 units of the CBR 150. Majority of Honda’s sales come from the Activa scooter.
