The Q1 will be showcased in 2016 and production will begin soon thereafter

Audi has a lot of plans for the global as well as the Indian market. The German auto giant has confirmed that it will launch 60 new products by 2020. Out of these 60 products, there will be at least three new products in the Q range of SUVs. As of now, Audi has the Q3, Q5 and Q7 in its kitty but soon the company will launch the Q8 SUV which will compete directly with the Range Rover and it’ll be positioned above the Q7. Then, the company will introduce the Q1 compact SUV that will be slotted below the Q3 and then finally a performance SUV will be launched.

Mr. Joe King, Head of Audi India was quoted saying that the Q1 could be an interesting product for the Indian market. The Q1 baby SUV will make its debut in 2016 and production will begin soon thereafter. The vehicle is meant for many global markets but it is possible that it could make its way to the Indian shores. The A3 and Q3 are the cheapest Audis sold in India and the Q1 will be priced much lower than these models, meaning, buyers in the D-segment would be able to consider the Q1 too as a significant competitor. Large sedans from Hyundai, Skoda and Volkswagen are most likely to face a lot of heat when the Q1 arrives.

Audi India is on a roll since the past couple of years. The company is showing a lot of aggressiveness in their sales and marketing strategies and they are standing at number 1 position in the Indian luxury auto market. Audi has also been opening few showrooms in the eastern and north eastern parts of India. The automaker finds our market very interesting and doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned in its quest for success. Audi India is convinced that they will be number 1 again.
