Aiming to add some freshness to its sales chart, Volkswagen India is readying up the 2015 Vento sedan facelift that is due for launch around the festive season later this year. Making some very subtle yet effective revisions to the sedan, the Vento facelift was recently caught testing completely undisguised revealing all the fine details that will be seen on the upcoming model. The German auto giant though will retain the existing mechanicals including the powerful petrol and diesel engines.

Not moving away from its existing styling, the 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift gets cosmetic upgrades with the most prominent being the new Jetta-like front fascia that features a three-slat chrome grille with the company logo resting in the centre, whereas the bumper has been updated with redesigned fog lamps. There are no changes to the side profile on the Vento facelift but the rear gets mild tweaks to the boot-lid along with a new bumper. The tail lights have been reportedly updated to LEDs.

On the inside, the 2015 Vento facelift will continue with the revised cabin that made its debut on the Polo diesel last year and features a flat-bottom steering wheel, black piano finish centre console, beige upholstered seats and a new infotainment unit. Engine options on the sedan include the same 1.2-litre TSI petrol and 1.5-litre TDI diesel engines under the hood, paired to the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission while there is also the 1.6-litre petrol motor producing 105 PS of power, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Volkswagen has been extensively testing the Vento facelift in the country and much like the outgoing versions, the new model will be a fun to drive sedan with impeccable build quality. The automaker does not have any new launches planned to hit the showrooms this year but does have a compact sedan and SUV in the works that will be launched next year. Meanwhile, the Vento facelift will work as a stop-gap measure to keep the brand relevant in the second half of the current year.
