Ducati’s exile from India has finally come to an end as the iconic Italian manufacturer has officially commenced operations in the country. The automaker has introduced its global lineup including the Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster and Panigale models. The legendary bike maker has also introduced the highly awaited Scrambler in the country priced at Rs. 6.77 lakhs, its most affordable offering; while the feisty supersport flagship Panigale R is priced at Rs. 46.75 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

Ducati India has established dealerships in Gurgaon-Delhi (AMP Superbikes) and Mumbai (Navnit Motors) and is commencing deliveries from today. The Scrambler is the automaker’s newest model and gets two new variants for India including the Full Throttle black and the Classic yellow. The bike is powered by an 803cc twin-cylinder engine capable of churning out 75 HP of power and 68 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. With its classic retro styling and a highly potent engine, the Scrambler is certain to attract several bike aficionados to the brand. For street-fighter lovers, the Monster series is the next best bet from the company and is available in four versions.

Coming to the original sports cruiser, Ducati is offering the Diavel in four options including the new Titanium limited edition variant which is limited to 500 units; the Diavel Dark, Carbon (Red) and Carbon (Star White). The Hyperstrada and Hypermotard adventure tourers are for the junkies, who would like to explore the roads less taken. The automaker will also launch the Multistrada in the country by October this year.

The Gurgaon showroom is Ducati’s largest dealership globally and is spread over 16,000 sq.ft. Apart from the large display area, accessories section and lounge, this facility houses a service centre as well that will surely come as a respite for existing owners, apart from the new customers of the brand. Ducati India’s MD, Ravi Avalur stated that 13 percent of the brand’s global sales comes from Asia and the company will keep investing in the continent.

Ducati will be expanding its base in the country and has announced the opening of the Hyderabad and Pune dealerships today while it will open a new showroom in Bangalore managed by VST Motors this October. The company further plans to open dealerships in Goa, Cochin, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Indore. With an abundance of global performance bike makers in the country today, Ducati will be rivalling with a host of offerings including Kawasaki, Triumph, DSK-Benelli, apart from the other Japanese giants. Making the ownership experience even better, Ducati is also considering Riding Experience Programs for the Indian market.
