Honda will be officially launching the Livo next week and is likely to phase out the CB Twister in the following months that is currently sold in the same space.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has officially confirmed that its new commuter motorcycle Livo will be launched on 10th July in the country. The Honda Livo will be stepping into the shoes of the CB Twister in the automaker’s lineup and is targeted at urban buyers, unlike its Dream series. Furthermore, Honda India has also commenced the promotional campaign for the Livo and it comes with the tagline ‘Time to Live’.

Powering the 2015 Honda Livo will be a 110cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 9 BHP of power and 8 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike will come equipped with the automaker’s now famous Honda Eco Technology (HET) with gear ratios tuned to be taller in the interest of high fuel economy. In terms of design, the Livo commuter will be taking several cues from the new CB Unicorn 160. The teaser images even revealed a bikini fairing flanked on either sides of the fuel tank, while the exhaust muffler is a smaller unit of the one seen on the CB Unicorn.

The instrument cluster has already been spotted and uses a twin pod analog unit, while switchgear is obviously basic. Despite Honda India turning positive sales month-on-month, its presence in the 110cc motorcycle space is minimal. The CB Twister is a dud seller in the company’s lineup mainly due to its high pricing and the Indian auto giant will have to make sure it reworks on its pricing strategy this time to not create another sales dud. Prices for the Livo 110 are expected to be around Rs. 55,000/- (ex-showroom).
