Kawasaki is supposedly working on a new quarter-litre naked roadster carrying the name ER250C as sketches of the bike have been revealed by an Indonesian website, taking heavy inspiration from the Z800.
Kawasaki is known as one of the world’s most favorite sports and performance bike manufacturer for many reasons. It has a wide range of motorcycles and is present in every segment that one can think of in the performance category all over the world. The Japanese manufacturer has constantly been updating and re-working on its portfolio of offerings to increase its global market share. In the same regard, it seems that Kawasaki is working on a new 250cc motorcycle for the Indonesian market.
Sketches of the new quarter-litre naked roadster have been revealed by a website and the bike’s design is highly inspired from the more premium products including the Ninja 300 and the Z800. The tail section, alloy wheel design, exhaust, pillion and rider seat and the fuel tank design is a direct rip-off from the Ninja 300. However, the front end is the main talking point because the mean looking headlight cluster design takes inspiration from the Z800, which definitely looks very macho. The overall silhouette of the bike is reminiscent of the Z250 and the ER250C’s sketch also features a partial fairing on the side similar to the former.
The bike is expected to carry the same 249cc liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection that is also found on the Z250. This engine can output 27.6 BHP at 9700 RPM, 23 Nm of torque at 8200 RPM and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The overall design looks very smart indeed and appears very premium thanks to the cool and mean looking front end. It seems that Kawasaki is developing this motorcycle only for markets like Indonesia, else it would have sported an engine with higher displacement (300cc). Maybe an ER300C will come later.
