The 2016 Maruti Ertiga has been spotted testing once again and the MPV will only feature minor updates in the visual department when it makes its debut in the month of October.

The Ertiga is still managing to find many buyers thanks to the Maruti nameplate

One of the most popular vehicles in the entry level MPV segment, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was launched in India back in 2012. Like other vehicles from the same stable, the Ertiga went on to find many buyers not just from the private segment, but also for taxi services. Its attractive pricing and good aesthetics made it an instant hit in the market and it still continues to fare better than many other MPVs that were launched much later. However, the Ertiga will soon be getting an update and the facelift model is all set to make its debut in October 2015.

A test mule of the Maruti Ertiga facelift has just been caught while undergoing testing and the MPV is only expected to feature changes in the visual department to make it look fresher. Judging from the camouflage, the front end gets a new three-slat chrome grille and a tweaked front bumper with chrome strips over the fog lights. The side profile will remain the same except for new alloy wheels, while the rear profile gets a big chrome bar over the number plate housing. These are the usual steps followed by Maruti (also seen on the DZire facelift) and we would have loved it if the company did more to make it look better than the outgoing model.

The 2016 Maruti Ertiga’s interiors are expected to feature additions in the form of a touchscreen infotainment system and an engine start stop button with keyless entry in the top-end trims. Other than this, chrome rings can also be seen on the instrument cluster of the test mule and steering mounted audio controls with Bluetooth connectivity are also expected on the upcoming facelift. The new model is expected to launch somewhere in the third week of October. Maruti should be able to keep prices of the lower and mid variants of the facelift unchanged, while the top trims (Z and Z+) might see a price hike in the range of Rs. 25,000-30,000/-.
