With the festive season all set to kick in, manufacturers are trying their best to lure buyers by either offering attractive discounts and finance schemes on their vehicles or by launching special editions of their products. Mahindra has just now launched the Gusto Special Edition and this model comes with some cosmetic enhancements. There are no mechanical changes to the scooter and no new features or equipment has been added.

The Mahindra Gusto Special Edition is offered in a dual-tone paint job. The company offers two colours with this special edition – Silver Magenta and Ice Cool Red and quite frankly, the dual-tone schemes look nothing but hideous and the Gusto looks good in its original colours only. The company is also offering free insurance to buyers of their entry-level scooter. The special edition is offered only in the VX trim and it is priced at Rs. 49,350/-. The regular VX trim is priced at Rs. 48,850/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Mahindra Gusto continues to be powered by the same 109.6cc air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that churns out 8 BHP of power at 7500 RPM and 9 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The engine comes with a CVT transmission and the Gusto has an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency figure of 63 km/l. The Gusto recently entered the top 10 selling scooters list and is behind the Honda Aviator by only 100 units which is quite a feat.
