Mercedes-Benz records best sales figures in India with 10,079 units sold in the first nine months of 2015, registering a 34 percent increase in annual growth.

Mercedes-Benz sedans recorded 39 percent growth in sales

Mercedes-Benz India reported an annual growth of 34 percent with a record sales of just over 10,000 units in the January – September 2015 timeframe, which is almost equal to the entire sales of the previous year which was 10,201 units. During the July – September 2015 period, Mercedes-Benz recorded a 22 percent rise in sales by selling 3420 units as compared to 2812 units in the previous year.

Mercedes states that their record sales was achieved because of strong customer preferences of the entire portfolio of new generation cars, sedans, SUVs and their performance cars. They also mentioned a 39 percent growth in their luxury sedan portfolio consisting of the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class and the new CLA-Class; while their SUV portfolio consisting of the GLA-Class, ML-Class (now GLE) and GL-Class showed a steep 70 percent growth.

Mercedes-Benz also credits its success to its wide networking presence throughout the country with 80 outlets in 39 cities out of which 12 new outlets were introduced this year. The company states that it provides its customers with peace of mind by offering a wide range of services and packages like innovative service and financial programmes, along with a two year warranty with an additional one year ‘Star Care’ program as standard.

Roland Folger, the new Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India stated that the success of the Stuttgart cars continues, looking at the volume of sales in the first nine months which is a clear indication of the customer centric approach of the German car maker and that they are ready to enter Q4 with the same approach which has bared amazing results in the previous three quarters. Mr. Folger also added that the success in the first three quarters is in line with their expectations and they plan to continuously produce and sustain double digit growth with customer centricity being the underlining factor.
