Benelli is all set to launch the TNT 25 in India next month which will be priced under Rs. 2 lakhs. The bike comes via the CKD route and will take on the KTM Duke 200.

Benelli BN251 Unveil
The TNT 25 is Benelli’s entry-level model for India

Benelli made a grand entry in India earlier this year with the launch of five motorcycles, all of which are in different segments. The company has received very good response for its bikes and plans to bring in more models. Next up is the TNT 25 which will be the only single-cylinder bike from the company to be on sale in India from next month. The entry-level offering will rival KTM’s Duke 200 and Mahindra’s recently launched Mojo.

The Benelli TNT 25 can turn out to be a volume spinner for the Italian brand and will be brought down via the CKD route. As it will be a locally assembled model, prices will be a tad under Rs. 2 lakhs which will make this Benelli an expensive proposition when one factors in the performance on offer. The TNT 25 employs a 249.2cc, liquid-cooled engine that belts out 28.15 BHP of power at 9800 RPM and 21.61 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

Although performance won’t be the strong suit of this Benelli motorcycle, one can expect a good exhaust note while the design is also quite catchy as the styling of the TNT 25 is shared with the bigger TNT 300. Some interesting visual bits include the big tank, wave discs, under-belly exhaust, offset monoshock and upside down forks. The motorbike uses a single-piece seat which is rather unusual on a sporty offering.

Benelli’s top selling bike in India is the TNT 300, followed by the TNT 600i, the latter offering ample performance for the buck. The Chinese owned brand is retailed in India in partnership with DSK Motowheels which also has a similar arrangement with Korea’s Hyosung. The GT650R maker has been very silent in India since quite sometime now with all attention focussed on Benelli at the moment.
