Honda will showcase the much awaited BR-V and new generation Accord at the 2016 Auto Expo along with concepts such as Project 2&4 powered by RC213V and the Jazz Racing Concept.

2016 Honda BR-V Review
The BR-V is be based on the Brio’s platform

Honda Cars India has announced its lineup for the 2016 Auto Expo which includes the awaited BR-V compact SUV, new product range, concept vehicles along with ASIMO, the Japanese manufacturer’s humanoid robot. The automaker’s stall will also exhibit the McLaren Honda MP4-30 Formula 1 car while another attraction will be the current generation Honda Accord. The 2016 Auto Expo will be conducted at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida on 3rd and 4th February for media and between 5th to 9th for the general public.

The most awaited vehicle from Honda is the BR-V which is going to make its Indian debut at the Auto Expo. The MPV or Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) as Honda calls it, was recently launched in Indonesia where it has got a good response. The vehicle is based on the new generation Brio’s platform while the interiors are shared with the City/Jazz that lend a premium feel to the cabin. It will be powered by 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and i-DTEC diesel engines that produce 120 PS and 100 PS of power respectively. The BR-V directly rivals the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and others in the segment.

The second attraction from Honda is the new generation Accord which is to be relaunched in India this year. The luxury saloon was discontinued due to plummeting sales and entry of luxury carmakers Mercedes-Benz and Audi in the segment. However, consumers seem to understand the difference between entry-level luxury cars and luxury saloons; hence, Honda is planning to bring back the Accord which will come with a hybrid engine this time. The combined output of the petrol and electric motor is 196 BHP.

The McLaren Honda MP4-30 Formula 1 car will also be displayed to attract the visitor’s attention while the ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) humanoid robot will also showcase its capabilities. The Project 2&4 is a unique concept car by the Japanese manufacturer that is powered by the same four-cylinder in-line motor used on the MotoGP winning RC213V superbike. Other exhibits include the Goldwing in addition to the Indian product lineup and the Jazz Racing Concept.
