The 2016 Verna is now available in 4 trims – Base, S, SX and SX (O)

Hyundai India has updated the Verna 4S sedan with additional features for the 2016 model year which will be hitting the showrooms very soon. Along with new features, the Korean automaker has re-introduced the range-topping SX (O) variant on the sedan that was discontinued last year when the facelift was launched and will be priced at a Rs. 15,000-20,000/- premium. That said, the automaker has now discontinued the S (O) trim in the sedan’s variant lineup.

For MY2016, the Hyundai Verna is being offered in a total of four variants – Base, S, SX, SX (O) and all variants now get dual front airbags offered as standard equipment. The base trim is only available with 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines that are mated to a manual gearbox and come with the basic essentials. That said, the base variant misses out on an audio system and gets a cooled glovebox instead.

Moving to the mid-level S variant, the 2016 Hyundai Verna is available with the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines in addition to the 1.4-litre units and the latter is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 4-speed autobox options. The manual trims though get 15-inch steel wheels while the automatic versions can be differentiated with 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. A 2-DIN audio system is now standard.

Further, the SX trim comes equipped with front fog lamps, 16-inch diamond cut alloys, a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, electrically folding ORVMs and a shark fin antenna. Lastly, the range-topping SX (O) variant on the 2016 Hyundai Verna will be available only on the diesel engine with the automatic gearbox and will come with a host of tech including push button start, telescopic steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers and leather upholstered seats. The safety list gets upgraded with side and curtain airbags.
