The Bajaj V15 uses metal from the decommisioned Indian warship INS Vikrant and is scheduled to be launched in March, priced Rs. 70,000/- (on-road, Pune).
Bajaj unveiled the V15 just prior to the Auto Expo while the 150cc commuter has already reached dealerships and bookings for the same have begun for an amount of Rs. 5000/-. The bike is scheduled to be launched in March at a price of Rs. 70,000 (on-road Pune).
What makes the Bajaj V15 special is the fact that it uses metal obtained by scrapping the decommissioned Indian warship INS Vikrant. This metal is used in the bulky fuel tank, however, the quantity of this precious metal used is not disclosed yet. The metal is bought from IB Commercials.
The Bajaj V15 features a Cafe Racer like design with a removable rear seat cowl for added convenience while the headlamp makes it look like a commuter but it uses 55/60W trapezoidal lamps that illuminates the road 60 percent more than others in the segment. The rear sports an elegant tail lamp with chrome surrounding.
The Bajaj V15 is powered by a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine that produces 12 BHP at 7500 RPM and 13 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM while mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Another interesting feature on the bike is the dual-colour LED fuel level indicator. It will be offered in two colour options namely Pearl White and Ebony Black.
