The front end of the Endeavour looks butch

The Ford Endeavour is a vehicle which reciprocates its manufacturer’s country of origin like no other car. Its imposing, loud and has a big engine. Thus the car enjoys a big fan following in SUV crazy India. But lately, that fan following was not translating into sales numbers as the car was very old and in comparison with formidable and equally impressive competitors like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, it looked a bit long in tooth. To rectify that, Ford has launched the 2016 Endeavour and has displayed it at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The new Ford Endeavour was launched in India in last month and is available at a price of Rs. 24.75 lakhs – 29.46 lakhs. The Endeavour is now available with two engine options. Customers can opt for either a 2.2-litre engine producing 158 BHP of power or a 3.2-litre engine producing enormous 197 BHP of power. The new Endeavour comes with better off-roading capabilities in form of improved Terrain Management System with selectable drive modes such as normal, snow/gravel/grass, sand and rock.

In terms of styling, the Endeavour looks menacing and is full of “get-off-my-way” attitude which owners crave for. The front of the vehicle is adorned with a trapezoidal chrome grille and swept back headlamps with projectors. An aluminium scuff plate reinforces its off-roading characteristics. The side profile further accentuates the tarmac dominating look of the car with prominent wheel arches along with chunky 265 section R18 tyres.

The interiors of the vehicle are complementary to its price tag as they are luxurious and comfortable, be it the back seat or the driver’s seat. Bringing the car to 21st century are features such as 8-inch infotainment system with USB, aux and Bluetooth connectivity. On the safety front, the car comes with driver and passenger airbags as standard along with knee, side and curtain airbags as optional. The brawny SUV successfully achieved a 5-star rating in Australian NCAP crash testing.
