Maruti launched the S-Cross in India last year with an aim to curb down the growing competition in the compact SUV segment, however things did not go well, with sales dropping with each passing month. But a facelift can do what the original crossover could not and if the facelift looks anything like the leaked images that recently floated on the internet, it is ought to go the distance.

Pictures of the Maruti S-Cross facelift have been leaked in a dealer presentation that took place in France and it looks impressive with the extensive changes it has gone through. Talking about the exterior, the entire front fascia has been reworked and it now has a new grille with vertical chrome bars on it.

The projector headlamps now look more aggressive and the old bumper has also been replaced with a new one along with new fog lamps. The entire headlamp housing is replaced and the new one has DRLs beside the projector lamps while chrome finishes can also be seen below the new fog lamps.

The overall body shape along with other things except the body cladding seems to be unchanged while the cabin has been graced with a new dashboard which does not have a lot of differences when compared to the existing variant. However, some new features are expected to be added to keep the crossover up to date.

The Maruti S-Cross facelift is also expected to get new engine options which most likely will come from the BoosterJet turbo-petrol family. A new 6-speed manual transmission is also expected to be offered with these engines, however no official announcement is made yet.
