KTM is readying an updated version of the Duke 390 and the bike gets some mechanical enhancements apart from a couple of cosmetic tweaks.
The KTM Duke 390 is an extremely popular naked bike which is known for its quick acceleration and fun-to-ride factor. The bike is on sale since a couple of years now and the latest vine suggests that the Austrian company is now readying an updated version of the bike and the 2017 KTM Duke 390 has now been spotted on test.
The very first thing that you notice is the redesigned fuel tank which now gets an edgier design. The side panels also get a tweaked design while the seat is also new. The rear tail light also carries a fresh design now. These are the only visible cosmetic changes but the bike does look much more fresher with these updates now.
Powering the KTM Duke 390 is a 373cc engine that belts out 43 HP of power but the new model is likely to carry a slight bump in power. The bike will also meet 2017 Euro 4 norms and thus it will come with a more stable combustion and fuel efficiency is also going to improve. The cylinder head is likely to come with a second balancer shaft too.
The additional balancer shaft will improve the bike’s responsiveness at the lower end of the rev range and the Duke will also feel a lot more smoother now. KTM will be unveiling the bike officially towards the end of this year while we can expect it to be launched in global markets by the start of 2017.
KTM will also launch the updated Duke 390 in India in 2017 to keep up with the rising competition. For the manufacturer, the entire range has tasted success in the Indian market. The Duke models were introduced first while the RC bikes came later. KTM has been giving timely updates to all its products.
