Isuzu had displayed the D-Max V-Cross at the recent 2016 Auto Expo and the vehicle drew a lot of eyeballs mainly because of its looks as well as the aggressive character. The automaker has now commenced bookings of the vehicle and it is priced at an introductory point of Rs. 12.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Chennai).

Deliveries of the D-Max V-Cross will begin by July and the vehicle is being manufactured at the company’s new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The V-Cross range of vehicles is pretty popular in overseas markets because there pick-up trucks are used for a lot of utility purposes and also for daily chores.

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is powered by a 2.5-litre BS4 engine that produces 134 HP of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle also gets a 4WD system with shift-on-the-fly mode. The chassis is based on the iGRIP technology which stands for Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform.

The market for pick-up trucks in India has been pretty much dismal and this is one segment which has failed to create excitement among buyers. However, enthusiasts now are opening up to the idea of owning such a vehicle and hence the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is likely to sell in decent numbers.
