The W6 Automatic is likely to receive a lot of demand due to its price

Mahindra has added another feather to the vastly impressive XUV500’s cap with the introduction of automatic transmission on the mid-level variant W6. This introduction leads to the extension of the number of variants offered by the company to seven namely: W4, W6, W6 AT, W8, W8 AT, W10, W10 AT.

The vehicle has been priced competitively at Rs. 14.29 lakh( ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai). The engine powering the vehicle remains the same  2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk oil-burner that also powers the Mahindra Scorpio and produces 140 BHP of  peak power at 3750 RPM and 330 Nm of peak torque available in the speed range of 1600-2800 RPM.

The company expects the automatic transmission, which is a second generation 6-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Aisin, Japan to appeal to a large section of people as it has seen a tremendous amount of response for the other automatic variants. Through this launch the company is targeting the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster.

Company officials sound very optimistic about the introduction of this new variant and only time will tell as to whether the demand forecast of the company turns out to be right.
