The iconic British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph formally announced its entry into the Indian motorcycle market with the showcase of a string of their models at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. A total of 7 models were displayed at the Auto Expo which will be coming first to India including the 1959 classic, the 865cc Bonneville and the 2300cc Rocket III Roadster. Triumph also revealed the prices at which these bikes will be available in the Indian market. The Bonneville will be retailing at Rs. 5,50,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the world’s largest capacity production bike, the Rocket III Roadster will be carrying a hefty price tag of Rs. 22 lakhs. The iconic British bike manufacturer, Triumph unveiled its line of amazing motorcycling portfolio at the 2012 Auto Expo. The company launched not just one or 2 but in total 7 models at the 5 day show of automobile extravaganza. Among the bikes showcased were the Bonneville, the Speed Triple, the Tiger 800XC, the Storm and the Rocket III and the super sports bike Daytona 675. The Bonneville is a bike for you if you love classics and ‘old is gold’ styling. The Bonneville is powered by an air cooled DOHC parallel twin 865cc engine that with a multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection. The exhaust comes with stainless steel headers and twin chrome coated silencers. It develops a maximum power of 67 BHP @ 7500 RPM and 68Nm of torque @ 5800 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5 speed gearbox. The bike rides on 100/90 R19 at the front and 130/80 R17 at the rear. Braking is done via a 2 piston calliper 310 disc at the front and a 2 piston calliper 265mm disc at the rear. [click to continue…]

The iconic British motorcycle maker, Triumph which made its foray into India recently has announced its plan of launching the Daytona 675 in the Indian market this year. The Daytona 675 was brought into the global market as a replacement for the Daytona 650. The Daytona 675 is powered by a liquid cooled 3 cylinder 675cc engine that produces 124 BHP of power at 12,600 RPM and a torque of 72 Nm at 11,700 RPM. Fuel delivery into the engine is done through a multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection with forced air circulation. With Asian auto markets like India and china growing rapidly, all the manufacturers are turning towards these markets to capture sales volumes. In recent news, the iconic British bike manufacturer, Triumph had confirmed that it is going to enter the Indian market and is going to showcase its portfolio at the upcoming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Media sources have also confirmed that the bike codenamed Street 300/350 is being developed by the company for the Asian markets and is likely to get launched in the Indian market. Fresh off this news, the company has revealed its expected product line up for all the excited customers and bike enthusiasts of India. The company is looking forward to bring 7 models initially to India and it will be across its 4 model families: Roadster/Supersports, Adventure/Touring, Modern Classics and Cruisers. The first model to hit the shores will be Bonneville which is a modern interpretation of the British parallel twin. This will be followed by 2 naked style sport bikes and the Speed Triple. Details have been revealed about the 2012 Triumph Speed Triple and compared to the 2011 model which was fantastic; the current version is just a collection of some small modifications done here and there. The 2012 Triumph Triple is going to be launched at the EICMA motor show. The bike going to be featured there will be having the ‘R’ designation denoting its upgraded Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes and PVM wheels. The bike features Ohlins NIX30 43 mm fork at the front and TTX36 rear shockers. Triumph claims adding the Ohlins suspension is going to improve the ride feel of the bike. Triumph motorcycles recently announced their intentions to enter India and now a new model in their line up could emerge. This new model is very important because it is for emerging markets and could well make it to India very soon. The artist impression shows the upcoming 350cc machine draws heavy inspiration from the company’s Speed Triple motorcycle. A 350cc, four valve, liquid cooled, single-cylinder unit could power the new Triumph machine, with power ranging between 25-35 bhp.
