XUV 500 Track Day 283 1024x682 photo

Mahindra’s XUV500 is certainly the flavor in the SUV market. While other manufacturers are struggling to sell their products, the XUV is commanding a large waiting period provided you have made it through the qualifying lucky draw. When I received a call from Mahindra about a track day on the Buddh International Circuit, I was certainly excited, driving on the circuit is a luxury we auto journalists enjoy once in a while. The only thing I was not sure was whether the XUV was the right car to drive on the circuit, but I was wrong. It was a exciting day and this is how it unfolded.

Mahindra XUV500 Track Day photo

We are just back after driving the Mahindra XUV500 on the Buddh International Circuit. Now an SUV, which weighs close to 2.5 tonnes on the track might sound ridiculous but Mahindra wants us to think otherwise. We drove the XUV500 on the circuit for a few laps and will be coming up with a report shortly. Meanwhile you can checkout the video below.

It’s a bit complicated so we rather not waste more time and talk straight about the vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Test Drive Review photo

The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India is expanding its basket of raw materials sourced jointly with vendors in addition to hedging forex to avoid rapid currency rate fluctuation in the times of volatile market conditions. S Maitra, Managing Executive Officer (Supply Chain), Maruti Suzuki India told on that about 5 years back, the company had started sourcing steel together with their vendors from suppliers. The company has also done the same for aluminium about two years back. Now it intends to do the same with plastics.

The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India has revealed that that it is undergoing talks with its parent company, Suzuki Motor Company for development of the compact SUV for the Indian market. The company which used to enjoy a 50% market share in the Indian passenger car segment has seen a considerable drop in its market share in the past year. with a view to regain back the market share, the company plans to make a speedy entry into the compact SUV segment.
