Bajaj Auto  has launched its fuel efficient and low emission RE-GDI autorickshaws. The vehicle incorporates the latest Gasoline Technology – the Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine, to achieve substantially lower emissions than even alternative clean fuels like Liquified Petoleum Gas (LPG) and Combusted Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles. Designed and developed by the company’s R&D, the technology ensures not only a cleaner environment but also delivers low operating cost to the autorickshaw owners. The technology delivers a 33% better fuel efficiency than the conventional autorickshaw which is a boon for the operators in the days of rising fuel prices. The cost of the autorickshaw is Rs 1.17 lakh on road.
