2009 bajaj pulsar 200 upgrade photo

Bajaj Auto had announced a launch of new bike every month for the first six months of 2009. After the January debut of the XCD135, no motorcycle was launched in February. However, Bajaj did unveil three variants of the Pulsar 200 at a Probiking showroom in Pune. The bikes were displayed for the enthusiasts to choose the best option among the three. This was done as the company planned to finalize the facelifted version of the Pulsar 200 based on this survey.

All three variants sported the engine from the current Pulsar 200 DTS-i with the motor tuned to produce a maximum power of 19PS as against 18PS in the current model. Apart from the slight increase of power, the bikes had a lot of visual variation. The first bike was fitted with clip-on handlebars, a rear disc brake and bigger front forks – all borrowed from the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. This upgrade definitely looked promising with the street fighter character of the bike being upped with some really useful bits. The second variant was a ditto copy of the P220 except that this one sported an all-black engine and alloys. The bike sported the P220’s fairing as an addition apart from the front forks, rear disc and clip-on handlebars. The quarter fairing provided on the bike seemed to kill the urban fighter image of the P200. The third variant was similar to the second without the rear disc brake.

Apart from the Pulsar 200, the showroom guys also said that a facelifted version of the P180 will hit the market which will sport the looks of the current P200. The Pulsar 220 is expected to be launched with a better tuned engine and a slight increase in power plus an all-black treatment to the engine and the alloys. Survey officials said that Bajaj was planning a price tag of Rs 77,000 (approx. OTR, Pune) for the first P200 variant. The variant which was an exact copy of the P220 may debut at a price of Rs 79,000 (approx. OTR, Pune).

Back on guys after so long.

Here are the updates on P200.check out this guys.
http://www.business-standard.com/india/news/bajaj-phases-out-pulsar-200/364079/

May be hope that new model of Pulsar 200 is near in future to be launched before Ninja-250 launch (September-October launch) or after 2-3 months later of launch of Ninja.
However it would take, still min 2-3 months more to come see new news on new P200 model.since P220 has been launched just now on 23rd June 2009

May be Bajaj has planned to launch new Pulsar 200 as per design taken from P300 available details, with mono shock. No doubt one is without Fi(DTS-i)so can come around price of 74-74.5K on road and other with Fi version along with Fi version of 220cc.

[Right now P180(launched on 23rd april 2009) comes around 69K on road which is carbon copy of P200 with extra clip on handlebars, wider forks(taken fro m220) goodies with Battery indicator.only P200 silencer is not provided n so oil cooled.anyway Great / awesome bike n move by Bajaj.

N P200 comes around 78-79K onroad every where : The Fastest sexy Indian]

In Nasik Pulsar 220 is priced at Rs.78000 on road and Pulsar 180 at 75000, the difference is only of 3000 Rs. there is no scope for Pulsar 200. Pulsar 200 has been phased out.

@ Raj Anand

In Pune,
P180 (2009) comes around 69K ON ROAD. n
P220 (2009) comes around 78K ON ROAD.

so there is still scope for “New Pulsar 200″ could be launched(with new design as I said) around price tag of 74K-74.5K ON ROAD.

u need to check with your spec met about price tag of P180.
In last week only my Brother has purchased “new P180 2009″.

one thing you all keep in mind that Bajaj has killed intentionally current face lifted n most salable bike of Bajaj P200 model, to save the life of P150 n P180 by giving mainly looks of P200, with some advanced feature that comes from P200/P220 respectively.

So new P200[with power 19.5 Ps,rear disk brake, wider tyres, monoshock] would be coming in near future(as Bajaj working with KTM on it)once the sales figure of P180 n P220 are reached to PEAK.
[especially with/after launch of other companies models like karizmaZMR225/yamaha180-200/apache200 to compete with them and not with it’s current 2009 Own pulsar models)

Do u agree with me guys? I think will be definitely.

Be ready to jump into the surprise package Bajaj has planned with P220 and 200 launches ahead..23rd June2009 and ahead so
It’s a thrilling but very GOOD news to the die heart pulsar lovers from premium segment above 200cc.

now Bajaj gone be launching 2 segments in each category of P 220 & P200..
ONE MORE DELIGHTED PACKAGE is of launching the new brand P250(with P300 faring)..!!!!!Awesome.. Great move…(this is not the upgraded one and differ from 200 & 220 segment)

Below are the sumerrised details I got to know from Empire of big/performance bike world.

Reply

fas July 20, 2009 at 10:31 pm

Raj, Mumbai delivers doesn’t seem to have started. I went to probiking showroom today and there was just one bike in the whole showroom. Just one bike, the old P220.

Reply

nishanth July 20, 2009 at 10:22 pm

bike is really amazing . probiking guys said up to 2 nd service the bike speed should not exceed 50 kmph . its very tough job to make this fastest indian bike to maintain beloe 50 with out any efforts it crossing 60. and soul_collector , its 27 km when i took the bike. and i have not noticed the problem u mentioned.

Paras, thats normal, all Pulsar 220s have that problem. Bajaj is not so good at making rear discs yet.

Reply

sod July 21, 2009 at 11:08 pm

guys p220 comes at an on road price of 74k in delhi and 73k in chandigarh, way lesser than 78k in nasik and mumbai, may be one being the capital and other being a ut gives them the edge.

Reply

PARAS July 22, 2009 at 12:02 pm

hey fas can u tell a possible solution for this plz????

Reply

fas July 22, 2009 at 5:45 pm

Paras, there is no solution for it yet. Bajaj needs to resolve the issue and than recall all Pulsar 220s.

Reply

shunjaruff July 22, 2009 at 5:09 pm

@paras
hey paras dont worry about the rear disk break’s sounds.its ok. because rear disk brake faces more dust particle as compare to front brake,,the open chain clearly causes the more dust to be stick on rear disk,,,so dont worry n njoy ur ride

Reply

Ranju July 22, 2009 at 7:34 pm

If ur a normal rider then Bajaj is a best choice otherwise YAMAHA R15 and HERO HONDA KARIZMA are the beasts who can handle ur full throttle

Raman, since your looking for looks and average, you should get the CBF Stunner FI. It looks very good and gives the best mileage of the lot but its overpriced.

Reply

Raj Anand July 28, 2009 at 1:20 am

1) Yamaha Fazer
2) Pulsar 150
3) Pulsar 180 compromise on average a bit.
