Bajaj Pulsar

red bajaj pulsar 220 carb photo Avid Motorbeam reader and active commentator Srivatsav has sent us pictures of the much awaited new 2009 edition Bajaj Pulsar 220. There have been many guesses of how the bike will look, but now you can get the real picture. The 2009 Bajaj Pulsar 220 gets a new 220cc air cooled carburetored engine with 21PS of power at 8500rpm and 19NM of torque at 7000rpm. Other changes include DC electricals and golden brake callipers. 2009 bajaj pulsar 220 non fi photo

The 2009 Edition Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi may not have any drastic design changes, but it sure does look quite different from its predecessor. Contributing to the new look is the ‘all-black’ treatment – from the forks, swingarm, wheels and engine are all in a rich shade of black and that makes the bike look much leaner and meaner. Raised 3D graphics on the tank are also a big plus. Here’s the bike at rest, so that you can admire all the visual and technical details, including that new carburetor!

    another pulsar… boring! **yawn**

Do I have to say more? BAL is going down big time, they need to address important issues rather than killing the goose. Pulsar is a bread and butter, they cant kill it like this.

They need to address important issues like:
    - Good after sales service
    - Far better gear-box
    - Far better clutch
    - Most importantly good spare parts
    - A quality bike

… and not the bike that breaks down very often.

hey…are we not blowing this out of proportions?

All black upgrade was expected…infact many were surprised when bajaj didnt offer this initially. raised 3D graphics….whats the need for this protruding extensions on the bike???

This feel looks awesome from front…But from the rear its “difficult” to judge which of the pulsar siblings it is…I believe there should be distinctive differentiation from the pulsar portfolio….Agreed that it will increase the production cost..but a 220CC bike should have exclusivity atleast from the own brand portfoli…Yamaha and Hero Honda has it…thats the reason why they are at the top of the charts….

IN AN INTERVIEW A BAJAJ’S CEO S.SRIDHAR SAID THAT PULSAR 220 Fi WILL CONTINUE TO SELL WITH THE NEW P220 DTS-I WITH THE SAME FEATURES, BUT THE PULSAR 220 DTS-I WILL BE SUPERIOR IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE.
    PULSAR 220 DTS-Fi WILL COST Rs. 10000 – 15000 MORE THAN THE P220 DTS-i MODEL.
