2012 All New Bajaj Pulsar Spied Again

2012 All New Pulsar

The next generation Bajaj Pulsars are just a month away from being officially revealed and spottings of the new motorcycle have started to increase. MotorBeam reader Rohan Salgarkar recently spotted the next generation Bajaj Pulsar in Pune, on the road to Bajaj Auto’s plant. This particular road is a very high speed one and is the ideal place to test the high speed dynamics of any machine. Rough patches in between will also help Bajaj engineers to better tune the suspension of the next generation Bajaj Pulsars, which will be showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo.

The all new Bajaj Pulsars will be big leap from the current model. As can be seen in the pictures, the rear is a evolution of the current Pulsar, while certain parts seem to be borrowed from KTM. As these are pre-production models, the rear mudguard and saree guard are missing. The next generation Pulsars might utilize powertrains from KTM, including the 125cc and 200cc engines which could be re-bored to make the 150cc and 180cc version of the Pulsar. With the KTM Duke 200 unofficially confirmed to be priced at Rs. 1.25 lakhs, we can expect the 2012 Bajaj Pulsar 200/220 to be priced around Rs. 1 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Pune).

the same old story of finding exhaust !!!

  • Neil December 2, 2011, 10:00 am

Looks to be full digital console.

  • varun December 2, 2011, 10:03 am

every one seem awefully obsessed with he exhaust…you can see the exhaust when the pulsar get unvieled in a matter of days/weeks…sheesh for now pulsar doesnt have any exhaust…alright got it…he he..

  • varun December 2, 2011, 10:13 am

the console seem to have a big centeralised circle for the analogue/ digital tacho like zmr…instead of getting baised to either rhs/lhs as seen on the current versions & other competetion… anyway hope it looks fresh…the rear tyre in the first pic looks wide but in the 2nd pic less wider…hmm looks to me as 130 section…and tail lamp as far as i can say is a good mix of current pulsars with the p135ls’s ones…thats all i could find for now….

But why the hell there is still drum brakes at rear, the tyres are massive, the theme is very sporty then why rear Drum brakes? for spoiling the looks? if it is a 150cc then why so wide tyres? and the exhaust is an underbelly exhaust.

  • harpreet December 2, 2011, 4:41 pm

exhaust is way down under the engine for lower center of gravity which results in better handling.

  • varun December 2, 2011, 9:48 pm

@ ninu, that is a right question. but at this time let me ask this,if you are asking the question why it should a wide rear tire then let me ask one thing why is there a need for a 14bhp yamaha FZ 16 to have an even bigger tire and that too with a bike having a mere air cooled 5speed 153 cc basic engine…as far as i have read the report published by zigwheels it seem to be a very disappointing news (@least for me)that the upcoming pulsars seem to be a pulsar 125 based on duke 125… i could also be wrong.. and now that is exactly what i am praying for…

    • ninu December 3, 2011, 11:05 am

Dear Varun, FZ16 is a scaled version of FZ1, which is meant for bulky & naked style, also it is launched for making Yamaha’s brand value in India again, that is why they fitted it with 140/17 section tyre but in indonasia the same bike comes with 120/17 tyre. One more thing that FZ16 is selling at 69k in delhi and gives an average of 35-40 kmpl & it is meant for commuting in style thats why it is selling in very low numbers as compared with Pulsar 150cc. If 2012 pulsar 150cc give an average of 35-40 kmpl with those wide tyres & retail at 65k, i think the sale will decline by a huge margin. in my opinion the above shown pulsar is 180cc version.

or may be it can be an Indian version of KTM Duke200…for which i beg to bajaj that “please dont”

  • demonic angel December 5, 2011, 10:26 am

i hope that this is the new pulsar… but i doubt it the mark on the engine is ktm.. the bike seems awesome but wait!! its a damn rear drum brake….

  • Vivek December 6, 2011, 4:57 pm

every thing is still ok. But if a 200/220 cc will be released, it will carry a cawl, that is d thing bajaj is trying to surprise us with.
That will be the exciting thinb to watch out for

  • anurag January 20, 2012, 4:28 pm

    • Faisal January 21, 2012, 2:06 am
