Bajaj Pulsar 220 Upgrade

Bajaj Pulsar

2009 bajaj pulsar 220 photo

Bajaj plans to upgrade the Pulsar 220 cosmetically by giving it the black theme. The Pulsar 180 & 200 already have the black theme and we wonder why Bajaj launched the Pulsar 220 without black wheels. Actually we know why Bajaj did not launch the Pulsar 220 with black wheels, simply because they would want to do this later. I think Bajaj is feeling the heat from Yamaha.

The Black themed Pulsar 220 should be launched along with the upgraded Pulsar 200. Bajaj plans to launch the Pulsar 200 with FI which would give the Pulsar 200 a competitive edge against the Yamaha FZ16.

Update – 20/04/2009

According to a senior representative of Bajaj Auto, the company will continue to refine and evolve its home-grown sportsbike – the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. He added that there will be certain styling changes, engine tweaks, perhaps monoshock rear suspension, better brakes and revamped instrumentation.

    Hi,
I had got P220cc in Aug 28th.bike is giving 40Avg milleage perliter i checked it clearly.its speed is awesome but dont go above 60 before 1st servicing bcz it perfomance is getting poor after crossing 60 before 1st service.mirrors are bad, fuel indication shows improper balance abt petrol.everybody is showing interest on P220cc better than other bikes even small kids, youngpeople and last old people also but comparing with bikes yamaha bike is too short.everybody feel uneasy to ride yamaha r15 on indian roads even in highways also everybody is giving preferenc only for brand name only yamaha not 4 d bike and karizma bike looks old only.truely saying now a days everybody showing interest on P220cc only.

actualy i wanted to buy p220 bcoz of look, power but the mileage and w/o kike make me dissapiont so now am thinking to go for pulsar 150.kindly give the total details for 150 vs p220 and advantage as well disadvantage of both which color looks great.

James, get the P220. Lack of kick is not a problem at all and mileage can be decent if you ride it sanely and don’t revv her too much. Blue and black look really good on the P220. One life, make it large dude, get the P220. Its faster, has more features, looks better and is the fastest Indian.

fas, recently i did a 850 km trip with my fastest indian to nainital,i did off roading with my cousin who stays there, this bike is a bunch of power, performed like a true rockstar , had done my 1st servicing just before the trip but the engine oil appears to be as black as black can be. it was the stupid oil that bajaj people provide, my cousinn asked me to change it to castrol power1, bike is 1600 kms old, should i change the oil elsewhere as its not time for 2nd servicing and they, i believe dont change oil in 2nd one, and also is it mandatory to change clutch cover gasket

    Reply

    • fas Says:

Desh, its not madatory to change the clutch cover gasket. If Bajaj change if free of cost then let them. About the oil, Bajaj will change if for you, just tell them you want an oil change. If they refuse than get it done from outside.
