Bajaj plans to upgrade the Pulsar 220 cosmetically by giving it the black theme. The Pulsar 180 & 200 already have the black theme and we wonder why Bajaj launched the Pulsar 220 without black wheels. Actually we know why Bajaj did not launch the Pulsar 220 with black wheels, simply because they would want to do this later. I think Bajaj is feeling the heat from Yamaha.
The Black themed Pulsar 220 should be launched along with the upgraded Pulsar 200. Bajaj plans to launch the Pulsar 200 with FI which would give the Pulsar 200 a competitive edge against the Yamaha FZ16.
Update – 20/04/2009
According to a senior representative of Bajaj Auto, the company will continue to refine and evolve its home-grown sportsbike – the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. He added that there will be certain styling changes, engine tweaks, perhaps monoshock rear suspension, better brakes and revamped instrumentation.

Nichu, you can trust Pulsar 220 and go ahead with it. Do take a digital test ride of the bike before buying.
Raj, I think the RTO clearance has got delayed by alot of time. There is still nothing concrete on when we can expect the clearance but Bajaj is trying.
Colgold, the Ninja is expected to be launched by the end of this year.

HI Guys, Any update on the status of P 220 sale in Maharashtra. I called the pro bikibg guys abt an hour ago, they told that RTO has given them the final vertict for clearance on coming Wednesday. Anyone of u have anything to say on the same…………..

I just went to the pune probiking showroom this evening..this guy said that the TC approval will come only by weekend..how did u get to knw that it would be sorted out by wednesday?/?..btw when did u book your bike??

Das even one my friend said that RTO approval for Maharashtra will be done on Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hi Leonardo, Well they told me that i am 21st on the list for P220. They also told that most probably will get the bike in its 2nd consignment.

Das I have been waiting for the bike since November 08 when I read a article about new 2009 Pulsar 220 in BikeIndia. More than one month has passed, still waiting for the bike, I am bloody frustrated. Let’s see what happens tommorrow.

“Story has changed on my side. Went to Kiviraj this evening in an full intention to give them a piece of my mind and cancel the booking. But to my surprise things have moved a lot forward the salesman was all smiles when he saw me for the first time since booking. . They seem to have alloted my bike and he has promised to deliver the bike on Sat afternoon at the worst. They are expecting the RTO approval tomorrow or the day after. First set of bikes are expected roll out on Friday and he has promised to deliver mine on Sat.
I took a look at the bike alloted to me. Everything looks fine at the first sight. I have asked him to call me before the final preperations for delivery, so that i can take a more detailed look.
About the RTO article. Karnataka seems to be full of crappy news like that Banning English only schools, Commissioner gets out of the way banning fast bikes but doing nothing about number of people dieing because of BMTC/KSRTC busses. They have to realize that only difference in speed kills. If their opinion about speed kills is true then there should be thousands of deaths everyday on American roads and in Autobhan’s. If i were to be as rude as him I would ban all Autos and bikes or any vehicle that cant cruise at 80kmph, cause they cause congestion and slow down traffic, cause pollution, frustration, Damage to all our cars and bikes(internal), allows people to be careless all of which also kills in a altered sense of fashion”
So i guess RTO will finally approve it by tmrw or day after.. :D

I am from Nasik, they don’t have any idea, they say that it can come anytime anyday. You call Pune Probiking ask them. They had ssaid to Das that from Wednesday the deliveries will be started.

I had a word with probiking guy and came to know that we have to wait for some more days.
No commitment was given by the probiking staff.
However they have updated me that some senior person from the management of Bajaj has already involved himself in getting the TC approval.
I am not sure whether you can get your bike by the EOD.Probably it would take this week also.

Das wait till friday, the RTO approval is done from Mumbai for Maharashtra, the Mumbai probiking guy said me that Friday will be the day.

Thanx for ur suggestion Leonardo. Actually i have paid abt 41K for the bike. Its really pathetic yaar the way RTO are streching things. Moreover the probiking guys also shud not give false commitment to its customers.

Hey fas, I have seen many guys uploading their pics of the bikes on XBHP and other various sites, some of them upload their full bike pic with the number plate displaying the bike number whereas other guys block the number plate, just want to know that what’s the harm in uploading pic with the bike number seen ???
Raj, that is done for privacy. Now if you post pictures with your vehicle number, a person can identify you, without a number a person cant.
So If I upload pics of mine and my bike what do you suggest ?? Should I block my number plate or no. Also the new Pulsar 220 comes with soft compound tyres – what does this mean ?? & do you have any idea when will the Maharashtra RTO approval be done. Other states are selling the 220.
Raj, you can block the number plates though it doesn’t make much of a difference. Soft compound tires don’t last long but give superior grip. Currently Probiking guys have said next week but we can’t trust them on it. We have to wait, I don’t know what is wrong but Bajaj should be taking this seriously.

people my friend saw a pulsar 220 dtsi here in pune today. it had the registration of mh-20.any news on the delivery of the bikes.he confirmed it had dtsi written and ‘F’ too..
